Lisa Rinna sat in for Kathie Lee Gifford as co-host of The Today Show’s fourth hour yesterday, sharing wine and chocolate with Hoda Kotb… and talking about her lips, of course.
Clearly wanting to divert attention from her landing strip, Kotb became the 417th person to ask the Celebrity Apprentice contestant about that body part’s history, prompting the following explanation from Rinna.
"Here’s the story: 25 years ago, I had my lips injected with silicone. Stupid thing to do at 24.. I did it with my best girlfriend, so she and I go and we get our lips done. Fine.
"I have it like that for my whole career, right? So then cut to a couple of years ago, I have a doctor remove as much as they possibly can because it got to the point where they were yucky. You know, they get hard. It’s gross. They are now whatever that was after they took out as much of the silicone as they could."
So there you have it, folks.
But while Rinna’s lips are often the only thing anyone wants to talk about with this actress, the former soap opera star has no regrets. She’s thankful, in fact.
"I never had a career before I had the lips. So my lips have had their own career."
And, let’s face it, we doubt husband Harry Hamlin is complaining.
