As we reported yesterday, Heidi Pratt was rushed to the hospital, with what is now being called gastric ulcer, after being confined, with husband Spencer Pratt, to a dark room for a day and a night with only water, rice and beans.
It was designed as punishment by producers of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, after Speidi left the set after one whole episode, only to beg for a second shot.
Numerous, varied accounts of what happened during Spencer and Heidi’s confinement are circulating online, and we’ve got the latest for you now.
One cast member reports NBC execs tried to convince Heidi Pratt (also known as Heidi Montag), who is now out of the hospital and on medication, to stay on the Celebrity set rather than take an ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
Paul Telegdy, NBC’s Executive V.P. of Alternative Programming, admitted that Heidi and Spencer were thrown into isolation as punishment, adding, “…They are now going to be examined, and their value system utterly deconstructed.”
In the wake of the drama, other cast members want out of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, but their passports have been taken away and they are under guard.
Spencer Pratt has reportedly fired his lawyer (who wanted him to stay on the show) and is now planning to sue NBC over the show. Spencer and Heidi now want out – for good – but they signed a contract with NBC to do the show.
Spencer says he was tortured by NBC and plans on suing the network.
ITV, the company that produces I’m a Celebrity, says Spencer’s claims are “untrue,” adding, “The health of the celebrity participants are of the utmost importance.”
ITV adds a medic and doctor are there all the time and “allegations of the celebrities being deprived of food and water are completely untrue.”
Folks behind the scenes also say that when Spencer and Heidi Pratt quit the show last Monday, they stayed in hotels for three days. Sources say there were no critters where they stayed, other than the usual bugs in Costa Rica.
They were indoors at all times protected from the elements, even as other cast members have been sleeping outside in thunderstorms. Moreover, Speidi was never in any danger and slept most of the time, and no one was held against their will.
Who’s telling the truth and who’s full of it? Like The Hills, are the facts blurred and somewhere in between? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
