Camila Alves is a model from Brazil. The young beauty is the serious girlfriend of Matthew McConaughey. She had the couple's first child on July 7, 2008. We can only imagine how attractive the kid will be.
On January 3, 2010, she welcomed another gorgeous baby into the world.
Camila Alves is, or at least was, trying to break into the acting industry over the years.
Rumors were running wild that she would play the new Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace. Alas, she lost out on that part, but hasn't given up her acting dreams just yet. In 2008, Alves has launched her own designer handbags and purses line called Muxo with the help of her mother.
She gave birth to Levi Alves McConaughey later that year. Way to go, Camila!

Its definately not her accent. She sounds like she is hearing impaired. When April and Amy left, I was like THANK GOD - those two names drove me nuts.

I finally have a belly full - had to find out who this "beauty" is and since everyone referred to a famous boyfriend, my interest was piqued. Okay, enjoyed the show before but with Antin's filthy mouth, the hostess's parrot voice -you have to listen and then after 30 seconds it dawns what she said. It just bespeaks of arrogance if it is thought that diction lessons are not needed for professional "announcing." One good thing, never have been able to stand her boyfriend - he ain't no jennius, as she just said -- so more power to them. I hope they find an isle faaaarrrr away and stay there with their brood. Yuck!

I just got online to search purposely for info on this host. I've never heard of her, and her speech drives me so crazy I had to find out who she was. I was sure I was going to discover that she was/is deaf, or had severe speech problem that she has worked to overcome, and I couldn't figure out WHY they would give such a job to someone who can't talk. It has nothing to do with nationality or accent - I agree, she has a speech impediment that she has not corrected.

I could not agree more. I had to google Camilla Alves voice because I was wondering if anyone else can't stand this lady's voice! I really want to watch the show but I have to mute it when she talks it's so awful. I don't know how she got a hosting job!

I think Camila is a beautiful woman but her voice drives me absolutely insane on Shear Genius. I understand everything she says but her voice just annoys the living hell out of me. It's the weird accent combined with the nasally high-pitched monotone flatness that makes me cringe.That's not racist or mean just my opinion. I really hope there is a new host next time around.

I don’t think because you are annoyed by someone’s accent that makes you a racist. Racist is when you discriminate against or hate the person because of nationality, race, creed, or color. Accent has nothing to do with it. I am part African American and part Italian…not racist in the least way and I am SO annoyed by her accent. I’m sure she is probably a beautiful person inside and definitely out but I’m sorry, every time I hear her talk I cringe. I don’t even think it’s the accent, I think she also has a speech problem. She definitely needs some speech therapy in order to have a hosting gig for a job!!

I love shear genius but camila is terrible! I love accents, I would never hate on that... But she seems 2 have a speech empediment or something!! Its like a cross between british english, and chinese, and something else... I can't stand 2 listen 2 it! It drives me nuts! People say its bcuz she's from brazil, but its just HER!! Her accent is from no where in particular! I'm mexican and puerto rican and I've never heard a spanish speaking person who can't make an 'R' or 'L' sound... Unless they have a speech problem. She is a pretty girl, and I wish her the best, just hope they find a new host. Cuz she makes me wanna watch the show on SILENT...

I don't think her accent is bad at all... and I understand every word she says.... if you think her accent is unbearable then I wonder how you find Penenlope Cruz... I must P Cruz 's accent irritates me big time, I wish she does not play in American movies anymore.

Just more evidence that racism still exist. I bet that if she would be a Caucasian blonde Russian with the heaviest possible accent people would think is the cutest thing in the world. Some Caucasians just embarrass us the rest of the Caucasians with their vile racism.
