In his first comments since being linked to numerous extramarital affairs last week, Roger Clemens acknowledged making “mistakes” in his personal life, apologizing to his family and the public in a prepared statement.

But, in case you were wondering, the seven-time Cy Young winner remained steadfast in his lies denials that he has used steroids or HGH.

“I know that many people want to know what I have to say about the recent articles in the media,” Roger Clemens, who has four children with wife Debbie Clemens in the Houston area, told the Houston Chronicle.

Roger Clemens is alleged to have had an affair with Mindy McCready.

“Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right,” he said.

Clemens also addressed the notion that he may have started an improper relationship with country singer Mindy McCready when she was 15.

As Keeley Hazell and Bill Clinton prove, respectively, the first two parts of this adage ring true. Now, sadly, Sheryl Lowe will find out the veracity of the third sentence.

For while some may believe that Miley Cyrus had an awful week, since when does getting naked have negative repercussions on a beautiful girl?

And while others may think Roger Clemens should be the most ashamed celebrity this week, he’s probably happy to be in the news for non steroids-related issues.

But Laura Boyce says Mrs. Rob Lowe spoke of her children’s genitals, inquired about the size of Dale Davis’ schlong and laughed about her husband’s broken cock rings. You recover from one of those things, two at most.

Former baseball star Roger Clemens is piling up humiliating extramarital affairs, as revealed in New York newspapers, like he used to with strikeouts!

Having already been outed as having had long-term affairs with both Mindy McCready and Angela Moyer, Clemens had a relationship with Paulette Dean Daly, a former wife of golfer John Daly, the Daily News says.

Clemens, a married father of four, arranged trips to Anaheim Stadium for Paulette Dean Daly to watch him pitch for the Yankees against the Angels.

Sources also said he spent time with her in Palm Springs, California.

Paulette Dean Daly (pictured, right, with ex-husband John Daly) met Roger Clemens at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, a Palm Springs golf tournament she’s been involved with for years. Guess we know why he waits until May to un-retire each season.

“Yeah, I’ve known Roger quite a while and we are friends,” Daly said.

She declined to elaborate on the specific nature of her relationship with the Cy Young winner, but did not deny the allegations from several sources that it was romantic and included financial support.

Asked if she was romantically involved with Roger Clemens, Daly said:

“You know what, I’m really uncomfortable talking about this. I’m just going to have to say, ‘No comment.’ I know Roger. I consider him a good friend.”

“That’s all I’m comfortable saying.”

Moyer did not comment on her alleged affair with Clemens, while Mindy McCready said she “could not refute” a single detail of this week’s reports.

The Hollywood Gossip likes to straddle a fine line between sports and entertainment, similar to how Angela Moyer apparently straddled Roger Clemens. Yes, like Rog, we are now ready to jump all over Moyer.

Her story, that is.

New York papers broke the story of Roger Clemens’ relationship with Mindy McCready earlier this week. Now there is new information about another woman, Angela Moyer, whom Clemens allegedly had a long-term relationship with.

Angela Moyer, 30, works as a Realtor in Pennsylvania, was asked about her relationship with Clemens, and responded simply, “No comment.”

Supposedly, Roger Clemens helped pay the rent on Moyer’s Houston apartment and even after she had moved to New York and gotten a job as a bartender at Sutton Place from 2000-2004 (when Clemens played for the Yankees, oddly), the seven-time Cy Young hurler continued a relationship with her.

While this is still only celeb gossip, Mindy McCready said she could not refute a single detail from the New York Post story that exposed her affair.

We’ll be curious to hear how the Angela Moyer story plays out - and when Debbie Clemens gets arrested for assaulting Roger with a baseball bat.

Following a shocking story that broke Monday, country singer Mindy McCready confirmed a long-term affair with embattled baseball star Roger Clemens.

“I cannot refute anything in the story,” a tearful but resolute McCready told the New York Daily News, which reported that they met in a Florida karaoke bar when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer.

Roger Clemens was a 28-year-old ace for the Boston Red Sox and already married to Debbie Clemens, with whom he has four kids, at the time.

“Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time,” McCready said. “He’s a kind and caring man. He’s also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life.

“There are legal matters working their way through the system that have nothing to do with me. From my point of view, that is where the focus should remain.”

After the teenage Mindy McCready met Roger Clemens at a Fort Myers, Fla., bar called The Hired Hand, she returned with the Rocket to his hotel room, but there was no sex that night, sources told The Daily News.

It wasn’t until later, after Mindy McCready had moved to Nashville and become a country singing star, that the relationship turned intimate.

Sources say Mindy McCready also received hefty checks courtesy of Roger Clemens - some up to $25,000 - channeled to her through an intermediary.

Such an arrangement raises questions as to why Clemens would go through a third party to give McCready money if they were just friends.

McCready has suffered a long list of legal troubles, which included a 2004 arrest for fraud and jail time last year for violating probation.

Roger Clemens is under FBI investigation for perjury after denying, under oath, accusations by his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, that the seven-time Cy Young Award winner used performance-enhancing drugs.

Baseball star Roger Clemens carried on a decade-long affair with country star Mindy McCready, beginning when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer performing in a karaoke bar and Clemens was the 28-year-old Boston Red Sox ace and married father of two, according to a shocking report in the New York Daily News.

Vivid details of the affair could surface in several media projects that Mindy McCready is already involved with - including a documentary that begins filming today in Nashville, a new album and a reality show.

McCready, who lives on a quiet, tree-lined street in Nashville, Tenn., is attempting a comeback following a string of legal and personal woes.

Through his attorney Rusty Hardin on Sunday, Roger Clemens confirmed a long-term relationship but denied that it was of a sexual nature.

“He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her,” Hardin told the Daily News. “He’s considered her a close family friend… He has never had a sexual relationship with her.”

The revelations could torpedo claims of an “unsullied character” that are central to the defamation suit Clemens filed January 6 against his former personal trainer Brian McNamee, who accuses him of steroid use.

Rusty Hardin said the Rocket’s wife, Debbie Clemens (left), knew Mindy McCready (right) and that the singer had traveled on his plane.

From a PR standpoint, Clemens’ decision to file the suit against McNamee the night the Rocket appeared with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes could end up being the biggest risk he has taken yet in a bid to clear his name.

Under investigation for perjury, Roger Clemens already endured the ignominy of publicly throwing his wife under the bus - saying she took human growth hormone (HGH) - as well as having photos of bloody gauze and needles linked to him and undergoing scrutiny of an alleged injection-site abscess on his buttocks.

Brian McNamee was branded a “drug dealer” and reminded of past lies.

With Congress apparently split over which man’s version of events is true, it could be up to the U.S. Justice Department to decide.

Clemens and McNamee traded lies stories under oath before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform about whether the star pitcher was injected with steroids and human growth hormone by his former trainer.

Question by question, tangent by tangent, disputed answer by disputed answer, Roger Clemens’ inane house of lies seemed to come tumbling down Wednesday.

• Congress must be really, really bored.
• You can practically see the bus tracks across Debbie Clemens‘ body after what Roger did to her with his testimony yesterday.
• What Clemens thought he’d get out of turning a sports controversy into a federal case courtesy of this hearing has yet to be determined.
• The Cy Young winner scored few points while getting caught up in his own words, nonsensical logic and twisted timelines - and that was even before his friend and former teammate, Andy Pettitte, laid him out.
• After what soon devolved into a “he said, everyone said” affair, Clemens is almost assuredly going to face federal perjury charges.

Former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens has a chance to clear his name - and snag $500,000 - if he appears on the new Fox show “The Moment of Truth.”

The strange program, which debuted to 23 million viewers last week, sent a letter to the Rocket’s manager, asking Roger Clemens to appear.

Contestants on the show are asked a series of personal questions while hooked up to a polygraph - and then have to own up to their answers.

Clemens’ reputation has been sullied by ex-trainer Brian McNamee, who ratted out or lied about (depending on what you believe) Roger in the Mitchell Report.

Don’t hold your breath for Roger Clemens’ “Moment of Truth.”

Howard Schultz, executive producer, says Roger Clemens can put the question of his steroid use to rest and donate his winnings to the charity of his choice:

“People have stood in awe at your incredible accomplishments. This could let the world know that you are a courageous person, as well as to clear your name in front of a nationwide audience, all in the name of charity.”

Somehow we doubt Rocket will jump at the offer.

As for the real moment of truth for Roger Clemens? His meeting with Congress’ committee investigating steroids was pushed back to February 5.

Not all celebrity gossip revolves around Britney Spears wearing no pants. It can sometimes takes radically different forms, such as Hillary Clinton crying or a star pitcher defend himself against damaging allegations of steroid use.

On that note, a recording of a conversation last Friday between Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee - the trainer who accuses him of taking steroids - was played Monday at Clemens’ news conference as he tries to clear his name.

Roger Clemens’ lawyers said that because Brian McNamee didn’t deny Clemens’ claims that he never used steroids during the 17-minute tape, it amounted to proof that Clemens is telling the truth that he is clean. But does it?

Roger Clemens and his attorney defend the pitcher’s reputation.

“I’ll go to jail, I’ll do whatever you want,” McNamee said.

“I need somebody to tell the truth,” Roger Clemens said, yet without actually asking why McNamee said what he did, or urging him to recant it.

Also noteworthy: McNamee never said he lied when he told baseball investigator George Mitchell that he injected Clemens with steroids several times from 1998-2001. This information was published in the Mitchell Report.

“I’m in your corner,” Brian McNamee said. “I’d also like not to go to jail.”
