One might say that singer Lady Gaga was born this way.

After launching her “Body Revolution” campaign two years ago, Lady Gaga has continued to champion her cause via a series of Instagram pictures and tweets.

Generally, this means un-retouched photos of her body:

Posing by the pool in a nude-colored swimsuit, the 28-year-old pop icon said on Instagram, “I love a night swim, so quiet, put on some jazz and just soak.”

“#bodyrevolution Proud at any size, because the inside is what really counts,” Gaga told her fans. “Plus, it’s all how you pose! Just ask the supermodels!”

“I’m taking a stand #BodyRevolution,” she added.

The haters are out in force on the Internet, as we all sadly know by now, and the Mother Monster is out to set a positive example for her young fans.

Her pics continue to undergo scrutiny, though.

A Little Monster tweeted, “I honestly can’t imagine receiving comments about my weight everyday. How insulting and degrading. Also Gaga is perfect so back off.”

The pop star replied, “All day long every day, so what if I got a belly sometimes, sometimes I don’t. There’s people starving in the world. #whocares.”

Another fan issued a challenge to critics of her pictures: “To everyone saying Gaga is fat: I dare you to post a picture of your belly and your legs now.”

Gaga replied, “Id rather be fat than be shallow.”

She asked people to “be brave and celebrate with us your ‘perceived flaws,’ as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous.”

Holla.
