Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved actors in the history of American movies, but one of his children is threatening to tarnish the screen legend's sterling reputation.
Hanks' son Chester has adopted the name Chet Haze and embarked on a rap career that's reportedly a "huge embarrassment" to Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson.
It's not the music that's troubling Chester's parents, but rather the 24-year-old's fondness for "gangsta" posturing and misogynistic online videos like the one below:
"He talks tough street talk and raps about skipping classes to smoke pot," says a source close to the family. "But behind his back people are laughing because they know he was raised in Brentwood with mega-wealthy parents."
Chester is reportedly living at home and refuses to get a job. Friends say he's convinced his rap career will take off any day, and the issue of what to do with their confused son is causing a rift between Hanks and Wilson.
Some sources have even gone so far as to suggest that Chester was the reason Hanks and Wilson separated earlier this summer.
"Chet's out of control and it's a huge embarrassment to Tom and Rita," says one insider.
We suggest having the kid party with Suge Knight and Chris Brown. We're guessing the sound of gunshots will turn "Chet Haze" back into Chester Hanks real fast.
