This is very fortuitous.
Kelly Clarkson announced last night that she's pregnant with her first child… and the singer just happens to be featured in this weekend's new issue of Parade.
Talking about a potential baby!
“I’m totally gonna have a girl," Clarkson gushes to Parade. "I’m manifesting it! And when I have a girl, you’re gonna be like, ‘That chick knew it!’”
It's not shocking, of course, that Kelly would have talked to the magazine about this topic prior to knowing for certain if she's going to be a mother any time soon.
Ever since getting married in Tennessee last month, the first American Idol has been open about her desire to have a baby.
She recently told Jay Leno that she and husband Brandon Blackstock were trying like rabbits to get the job done.
Clarkson's parents split when she was five years old, so she doubted for awhile whether or not she could "properly" do the job herself.
But she has been acting as the stepmother to Blackstock's two kids - a 12-year old girl and seven-year old boy - and it's given her a lot of confidence.
“I’m gonna rock at being a mom! I’m almost looking at it like making a record, like, ‘I’m going to nail this!’" she says, adding:
"People say money doesn’t solve everything but it solves a whole lot, so it’s nice to have the financial stability to be there [for my child], whether I’m able to fly home after shows or take her with me. See how I’m calling her ‘her’? I’m putting it out there!”
