George Zimmerman's estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, took advantage of the unusual circumstances that landed him in a jail cell earlier this week.
After he was taken into custody following a domestic dispute with (pregnant) girlfriend Samantha Scheibe, Zimmerman was locked up in a solitary cell overnight.
While he was in there, George got served - with divorce papers!
Shellie Zimmerman's lawyer, Kelly B. Sims, confirms that with the help of jailers, they were able to serve him in his cell at the Seminole County Jail.
Hey, that's the one time you know where the guy will be.
George has been dodging Shellie Zimmerman for months in her quest to serve him with papers to end their marriage, but he blew his cover Monday.
And possibly his chances at freedom. Again.
Allegedly threatening his current girlfriend with a shotgun, George was arrested and charged with assault. He was freed on $9,000 bond one day later.
He was required to surrender his guns, wear an ankle monitor, not leave the State of Florida and not go near or contact Samantha Scheibe. At all.
Shellie filed for divorce from George back on September 5, and says the marriage started going downhill even before the Trayvon Martin murder trial.
That couldn't have helped matters, though.
