Kendrick Lamar is not what you'd call impressed with his rap rivals' efforts to respond to his epic diss track, saying simply that they'll have to try a lot harder.
If you missed it, Lamar put the genre on BLAST last month, calling out nearly a dozen fellow MCs BY NAME in Big Sean's "Control" and igniting controversy.
Among the most choice lyrics ...
I'm usually homeboys with the same n****s I'm rhymin' wit
But this is hip-hop and n****s should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n****s.
A bunch of rappers responded, such as Meek Mill and others who weren't even called out on "Control," but Lamar is not impressed. Like at all.
Kendrick believes his colleagues have to step up if they want to be in his league, which was sort of the point of his verse all along ... makes sense.
He did show some love for Diddy, despite Diddy bashing him on Instagram for calling himself the King of New York, but that's about it for the props.
Your move, J. Cole, Pusha T, A$AP Rocky etc..
