Simon Cowell has commented for the first time publicly about the fact that he's going to be a first-time-dad, and says he's nothing but proud.
The music mogul tells the BBC, simply, "I'm proud to be a dad. It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."
His fathering a child with Lauren Silverman, who still married to now-estranged husband Andrew Silverman at the time, was not expected.
He's been keeping his distance from the mother of his unborn child until the drama subsides; she has settled her divorce as of last week, reportedly.
The X Factor judge, 53, nonetheless calls Lauren Silverman "a very special girl" and adds that "Things are changing in my life right now for the better."
