Demi Lovato has spoken out for the first time since her father's death.
The singer and X Factor judge acknowledged the passing of Patrick Lovato with a Tweet last night, telling her 15 million-plus followers:
"I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers. God bless you all, thank you so much love."
Demi's dad reportedly battled cancer for many years before succumbing to the diseased on Saturday.
It's unclear just what the state of Lovato's relationship with this parent was at the time, as she said in 2009 that she had not spoken to Patrick in two years.
"When somebody lets you down after you've been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don't know what else to do," Demi said back then.
The artist sang about the strained relationship "For the Love of a Daughter," which was included on her 2010 "Unbroken" album.
