Rick Ross is crushed after getting fired by Reebok deal because of a song that appeared to glorify date rape, believing he deserved a second chance.
Ross' song "U.O.E.N.O." boasts "Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne. She ain't even know it. Took her home and I enjoy that. She ain't even know it."
Women's groups were unhappy, and even less so after Ross issued a tepid half-apology, claiming he did not say "rape" and was just being misinterpreted.
The shoe company was taking heat for keeping him on the payroll, so Reebok fired Rick Ross, citing that half-assed mea culpa as a big reason.
Ross is not taking the news well.
The rapper believes he is entitled to forgiveness because he did so much for the brand, bringing classic Reeboks back in style in the hip-hop community.
Ross also offered a far more sincere statement apologizing for the lyrics after the fact, but apparently it was too little, too late from Reebok's POV.
According to reports, he will lose between $3.5 million and $5 million over those lyrics, because he was getting a check each time he wore the shoes.
