Loudmouth birther extraordinaire Donald Trump is back in the middle of another birth certificate-related controversy, although this time it involves:
- His own.
- Bill Maher.
The real estate mogul sent a copy of his New York City birth certificate to comedian Maher, who made a Trump-like demand to see the document.
Maher, mocking Trump’s PR stunt announcement that he’d donate $5 million to charity if President Obama released his college records, made Trump an offer.
On The Tonight Show, Maher said he would donate $5 million to charity if Trump could prove he isn’t the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.”
Maher, of course, is a staunch Democrat and Obama supporter, while Trump made an enormous deal about Obama’s birth certificate back in early 2011.
On Tuesday, a lawyer for the Celebrity Apprentice star called Maher’s bluff in hilarious fashion, releasing proof that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan.
In a letter, he told Maher to please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately for donation to the following five charities in equal amounts:
- Hurricane Sandy Victims
- The Police Athletic League
- The American Cancer Society
- The March of Dimes
- The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Well played by The Donald.
A representative for Maher did not immediately return a request for comment. On Monday, though, he told Leno he did not want to start a war with The Donald.
“I’m not looking for a feud with Donald Trump,” Maher said.
Too late. Your move Bill.
