Phil Jackson to Coach the Nets?
by Hilton Hater at .Might the most successful coach in sports history be in?
With the Brooklyn Nets stumbling to a 14-14 record early this season, sources tell ESPN that former Bulls and Lakers coach Phil Jackson is the team's top choice to take over on the bench.
However, Jackson's rep, Todd Musburger, told TNT's David Aldridge yesterday that his client has "no interest in the Nets' job at this time."
How might billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov change the legend's mind and lure him out of retirement? Money.
Jackson was nearly hired a couple months ago as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, but the team chose Mike D'Antoni over the man who has won 11 titles.
Given the right situation, it's clear Jackson would entertain a return to the NBA. But the Nets aren't very close to contending for a championship and point guard Deron Williams is gaining the reputation as a Coach Killer.
P.J. Carlesimo will serve as interim coach until a replacement is found.
