Susanna Barrett, Awful Toddlers & Tiaras Mom, Sues Media For "Oversexualizing" Daughter
Sigh. The mom of young Isabella Barrett of Toddlers & Tiaras fame is suing the MEDIA for over-sexualizing her daughter ... by reporting on Isabella's "Sexy And I Know It" cover.
Susanna Barrett claims media outlets, in reporting that event, portrayed her five-year-old daughter in an "overly sexualized manner." Right. All the media's fault.
In court papers, Susanna claims Isabella "did not act or portray herself sexually, erotically or provocatively" and that coverage of her performance was unfair.'
"She was not 'gyrating' at a 'nightclub' or singing 'about her sex appeal," the elder Barrett claims incredulously. "On the contrary, it is the defendants who, through their articles ... thrust these false and vulgar characteristics on to Isabella."
Yes, this is a real story. The delusional mother seems to see nothing wrong with having her daughter sing a sexually-themed LMFAO song.
The media talking about it though? Shame.
Thanks to TMZ, The Huffington Post, The Daily Mail and other celebrity news sources, “Isabella is now perceived sexually, erotically and pornographically."
Suing for $30 million, Barrett adds, "[The articles] place Isabella in physical danger, attracting the attention of others who would seek to sexualize a child.”
Well, on those grounds, can someone sue her for $30 million too then?

Just a question: What is "oversexualizing" a 5 year old? Is there a "just the right amount of sexualizing " that mommy dearest was looking for? Like maybe what her own mother does to her? The woman is a lunatic.

some might think me bad of this
but I hope all those girls in that show end up becoming whores, porn stars, etc
No.. not personal gain for me.. but just because that is what their mothers are turning them into.. and they won't have anyone to blame but themselves if they suddenly have to pay bail when their daughter is arrested for prostitution.. oh wait.. never mind.. they'll just find someone else to put the blame on...

That poor girl. Her mother is clearly crazy. I think she is really challenging Dina Lohan for Loser Mom of the Decade

The poor little kid is made up to the nines, with more make-up than most women wear, then not-mom-of-the-year let her sit up there, sing the song and the not-mom-of-the-year send the tape to the media and now she's blaming the media cause "they" sexualized her daughter? Child services needs to step in with these families who have their little girls in these awful shows and pageants.

If this isn't a money grab, I don't know what is. How exposure to these child pageants contribute to healthy child development is beyond me. It seems to me that, Mothers, being their daughters primary role models, would be better off investing this considerable time, energy and money by empowering their children with high self-esteem, care for others, etc. in partcipating in non-frivolous, age-appropriate, intelligent and fun activities. One wonders if these child pageants pave the way to developing narcisstic personality traits?

First of all, the kid can't sing. Secondly, any mother who parades her kid around and puts her on TV should know that the media can twist things however they want. The best way to prevent this from happening is to let your kid be a kid and stay away from these stupid pageants that objectify children and turn them into Stepford dolls.

Sadly, just another way to extort money. If you don't want your daughter in the media, don't parade her around, she is a little girl, let her be one.

It has Never been made clear to me why parents feel the Need to parade small children around cameras, wearing extensive makeup, and the competition of out-besting another child. I easily understand if the child was at least 10, but at such a young age being persuaded to strut your stuff and encouraging her to shake what she has been given, and to be made up like Tammy Faye does Not give a little girl the chance to learn about the innocence that should be allowed her at such a young age. I doubt very seriously if any of these parents realize that allowing their children to become aggressively mature at such a young age can end up damaging that child as a person. I believe that we all are proud of our children, but putting them on such a pedestal of display at such an early age can backfire on the parents as well as the child. PEACE!!
