Miley Cyrus Movie Opening Delayed Due to Scandal, Lack of Funds

Whether or not Miley Cyrus was joking about her affection for marijuana, the star's recent scandal has had a negative impact on her big screen career.

Sources confirm that Miley's next movie - the comedy LOL, which also stars Demi Moore and Ashley Greene - was scheduled for an international release in either late 2011 or early 2012. However, that opening has now been scrapped in large part due to last-minute editing out of a scene in which Miley's character smokes cigarettes with her friends.

Producers are hoping to avoid any and all controversy related to this topic.

So, when might LOL hit American theaters? That is also uncertain, as Lionsgate is facing significant financial problems.

The studio simply can't afford to market the film and is reportedly hoping to make enough bank on The Hunger Games - which, ironically, stars Miley's boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth - this spring to then turn its efforts back over to Cyrus and company.

LOL is based a remake of a French hit and centers on Lola (Cyrus) and her teenage pals, as they navigate the world of high school romance and friendship.

    Miley needs her best friend Mandy Jiroux, she was so good girl not bad. I understand she wants to get out of this cute Disney girl because everyone is growing and changing time after time. But she needs Mandy back!! and Emily where have all the good girls gone Miley??

    I like Miley but I don't uderstand why she's such a hypocrite she says I would never do drugs and smoking and affect my body then why she doing it,It's time we stopped blaming the parents, she's old enough to realise her mistakes. I never knew she would smoke and put her life in danger. Miley's got bad friends who told her to do the wrong things and she needs to get a GRIP and stop being with them before people start calling her a stoner stop miley go back to Mandy she was so much better

    Im a teenagere and honestly about 2 years ago i was so in love with miley she is a good girl inside she is funny beauty.i was watching his hannah montana series.we cant hide that she did somethings wrong but we cant hide also that her songs are fabulous.she make a hits all over the world she was inspire the big before the small.and she face many problems shall we stand by her or leave her career destroyed?whatever she did i still love her ok

    What kind of an adult would say ther prefer a child to smoke weed ?? Marijuana is just as deadly as any other drug. It causes seizures, nerve damage, heart problems, cancer.. shall I go on?? Oh and then there's the whole dead brain cell issue. Once a brain cell dies it can never be replaced! You're saying that's ok and normal because she is young??? WTF???? You endorse pothead whores???
