Movie Producers, Family of Mahalia Jackson: Pissed at Fantasia!
Fantasia Barrino is pregnant with her first child. This is exciting for the former American Idol champion, but the blessed event is not without its controversy:
The father is Antwaun Cook, a married man with whom Fantastia carried on a well-publicized affair.
This fact is not sitting well with those behind Mahalia!, the biopic based on the life of gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, as producers and members of that artist's family are angry that Fantasia both kept the pregnancy a secret and got involved with Cook in the first place.
“The family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia,” executive producer Adrian Taylor tells Page Six. “They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.”
Barrino's expecting state has also delayed production and may force directed Euzhan Palcy out of the project due to a scheduling conflict. Producers hope to complete filming by 2012, but may need to find a replacement for Fantasia if she insists on time off to breast feed and take care of her newborn.
The top rumored choice to take over if this happens? Missy Elliott.

All this is ridiculous. At the beginning, Fantasia should not have been been considered for the part anyway. I've been pondering on different people who would play this role well and I have come to the conclusion that.....CRYSTAL AIKIN should play the part of Mahalia Jackson. Crystal Aikin is the gospel singer who won the first season of Sunday's Best and I believe she will do well and better.

We are human beings, it's our nature for us to judge other human beings. Please stop with the whole 'judge yourself before you dare judge others'.... People who considerably make poor decisions have issues with being preconceived. I have no problems with people judging me whether positive or not. I do not care for Fantasia as a singer and person. I hope she has learned how to read and obtaining her GED or college education.

I think that everyone needs to stop pointing the finger at Fantasia. She is a human being as well as a grown woman. Women make mistakes just like men do. At the end of the day when it is all said and done, we all have to fall to our knees and ask for forgiveness. Who are we to judge? Who are we to critisize anyone for whatever do and whatever reason why they do it? People need to take a good look in the mirror at their own selves and confess their own faults before they try to judge anybody eleses. Stop trying to pull the plank out of someone elses eye when you have a beam in yours. The only thing that we can do for her at this point is pray for her. That is all we can do.

To the one's who are trying to judge Fantasia stop and sing the song "SWEEP AROUND YOUR OWN FRONT DOOR BEFORE YOU TRY TO SWEEP AROUND MINE" those without sin cast the first stone. Because I'm quite sure it is someone in their family who has dated a married man and may have even had a baby. Mrs. Jackson an anointed singer whom I loved and still love her singing would not see a problem with this because nobody is perfect but God sin is sin no matter what it is and we are all guilty. GET A LIFE FOR THE ONES WHO ARE SO PISSED OFF IT WAS NOT YOUR HUSBAND ANYWAY!!!!!

me personally i think she would do a wonderful job in this movie. some people take things wayyyy too seriously and way out of context. shes playing a part people!!! hello??!! the many people who have played Martin Luther King, were not ministers. they played a part. people who sit back and debate these kinds of issues when it comes to actors and singers, have way too much time on there hands. please get a life or borrow one, do something!
