Mike Starr was an awesome bassist, and we should remember him for the music legacy he left behind not focus on the personal battles he was fighting, a beautiful life left us all too soon. May your family have comfort in knowing you are truly at peace!!!

@Hilton Hater: The article suggests he died of an OD but does not say that. Just wondering if that is so or if they don't know yet?

I am sorry to hear that there is another victim with those fucking prescription drugs. When the fuck will this end!!??

    @ Monkey

I know the story personally. He was with Travis Meeks partying. They had a new band starting with Matt,Travis and Mike....he OD'd on heroine. Sad but true. I can't tell you anymore that that.

OMG.. I can't believe this! I had such high hopes for him.. omg :( I was really hoping for the best and that he would kick his addiction. Hopefully, he's a in a better place with Layne Staley!

It is so sad to hear bout starr's passing.i watched him on celerbety rehab n hoped he would win the battle with drugs.to bad like most stars that battle is lost n to lose such a good bassist.god be with his family n always n forever RIP

Such sad news. I watched Celebrity Rehab and was really pulling for him to get and stay clean. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I find it strange that his dad is so shocked, seeing as he did drugs with him.

    R.I.P. Mike!

My heart goes out to his family and friends. I am so sorry for their loss.
Back in the day I was an Alice in Chains fan so when he was on Celeb Rehab I caught a few episodes. On one episode Lane Stanleys (the late lead singer and Starrs best friend) mom was there talking to him and pretty much begging him to not follow that same path. He seemed to very much want to go clean but I think he needed something longer and more intense than the TV show. Damn, wish he would have gotten that.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. May our Lord comfort and bring them peace during this difficult time!
