Dave Grohl Goes OFF on Glee, Ryan Murphy

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl does not want his music featured on Glee, nor does he appreciate bands being made to feel bad about this choice.

In a recent interview, Grohl dropped f-bombs on the Fox hit and its creator, Ryan Murphy, leaving absolutely no doubt about his feelings on either.

It's unclear what prompted his rant, but Grohl was likely inspired by Kings of Leon and Slash and their un-Glee-ful decisions to turn down the show.

"It's every band's right, you shouldn't have to do f--king Glee," he said. "Then the guy who created Glee is offended that we're not, like, begging to be on his f--king show. F--k that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee."

That about sums it up. But he wasn't even close to done.

"The Glee guy, what a f--king jerk," Grohl adds. "Slash was first. He wanted to do Guns N' Roses. Slash is like 'I f--king hate musicals. It's worse than Grease.'"

"Then [Murphy's] like, 'Well of course he'd say that, he's a washed up rock star, that's what they f---ing do.' And then Kings of Leon say, 'No, we don't want to be on your show.' And then he's like, they're snotty little a$$holes ...'"

"It's just like, 'Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee.' Me included."

Bandmate Taylor Hawkins concurred, adding "Yeah, f--k that s--t."

Grohl, a former Nirvana member, admits to watching it himself. Well, once. For barely an episode. "I watched 10 minutes," he confesses. "It's not my thing."

Glee covers of hit pop tracks have resulted in some huge sales, but there remains a faction of the industry that isn't what you'd call enamored with it.

Before a legitimate war of words erupted, Kings of Leon passed politely at first, citing a policy not to sell songs for use in TV series and advertisements.

As for Slash, Murphy said: "Usually I find that people who make those comments, their careers are over; they're uneducated and quite stupid."

What do you think? Does Grohl have a point?

AAAAH !!Meu namo é igual você quando era mais novo,,

I love Dave Grohl, I think he is just amazing, I do however quite enjoy glee but I think everybody has a right to reject being a part of it and the fact that the shows creator is basically throwing a hissy fit about bands not wanting to have their music played on his show just shows us how egotistical he is. Yes I love the show but not everybody does and not everybody has to. He should respect the bands decision to not want their music played on his show and not bitch about them behind their backs when they refuse.

Glee? You're a fad that will last as long as housewives keep watching that garbage. Foo fighters music will be timeless... Eventually people won't remember Glee. Rock music ties to memories, glee...not so much. Glee go ruin something else, and Murphy get a life.

Glee sucks. Dave Grohl does not suck. It's a no brainer.Hopefully eventually modern music will change and wont be created under the influence of the $dollar$ .then all the drones will wake up and will understand why Dave chose the way he did.

Mate, do you know who Dave Grohl is? In fact, do you actually know anything about music if you make a comment like that?
Go get a few albums and for the love of God learn a little about music!

Dude's seriously my hero. Took the words right out of my mouth. I tell my gf's who watch that crap "F^ck that sh^t" all the time hahaha.

I love Glee! Love the issues (high school) the show deals with and how they play out (so true). Then every song that Murphy and his team has redone is musically brilliant!! David Grohl is 100% correct in his opinion and David hits every point of why its wrong the way Murphy handles rejections. Hope someone (Murphy) can say sorry.

Every artist has the right to say no to having their music used in a way they don't like and they should not be bashed for it. It's petty and wrong for the creator of the show to bash artists who don't want to be featured. Get a grip Glee, I'm sure you can find a bunch of other artists willing to sell out, oops I mean appear, on your show. How about doing an episode based on the music of an unheard of up and coming band? Now that I might watch.

Totally agree! Love foo fighters! Icons of our time!

It's about time someone has enough cajones to say "no way" to this ruination of all things rock. Shows like this, manage
to water-down great rock music to broadway show format, so
everything sounds like pop. Frankly, I found the first year this show was on to be innovative & fresh (I'm a musical aficionado). Now, it's
turned into a one-themed plot, with too-old-to-be in high
school actors. It sounds like the creator of the show is striking
out at anyone who criticizes them to make up for his lack
of creativity. How arrogant. Leave rock alone & work on a plot.
