Aaron Sorkin Calls Sarah Palin a "Witless Bully"

by at .

Aaron Sorkin went off on Sarah Palin on the Huffington Post yesterday, terming her a "witless bully" for staging a caribou hunt on her TLC reality series.

Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and the writer of films such as A Few Good Men and The Social Network, was particularly miffed by Palin's explanation.

"Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation," she wrote in defense of Sarah Palin's Alaska.

Not that simple, Sorkin replies.

Witless Bully

Likening Palin's antics on her "truly awful reality show" with Michael Vick's dogfighting ring, Sorkin said he may eat meat, but the two are poles apart.

"I don't watch snuff films and you make them. You weren't killing that animal for food, shelter or even fashion. You enjoy killing animals," writes Sorkin.

"For the life of me, I can't make a distinction between what you get paid to do and what Michael Vick went to prison for." He's just getting warmed up.

Sorkin called Palin a "phony pioneer girl" who "didn't just do it for fun or for the money. That was the first moose ever murdered for political gain."

"You knew there'd be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully."

"What a uniter you'd be - bringing the right together with the far right.""

Hard to believe, but Sarah Palin isn't remaining mum on the subject.

"So a left wing producer thinks there is no distinction between harvesting healthy, wild organic protein to feed my family and engaging in dog fighting?" she writes. "I didn't know anyone ate dogs, tanned the hides, and made boots out of them."

It's SO on. Choose a side ...

Aaron Sorkin, can you please talk less otherwise i would think that you are dumber than a caribou yourself. Hunting animals for food is realistic. killing dogs during dog figting is a crime. Therefore Michael vick is a criminal. Aaron Sorkin is such a moron! Sarah, you go girl! TEAM SARAH!

I think it's a valid criticism, especially in light of her obvious political and media ambitions... And Sarah Palin has a long record of horrifying environmental groups and her own State of Alaska Wildlife and Environmental Divisions by advocating for the hunting of endangered species, including polar bears (!) and the sleazy, un-sportmanlike aerial hunting of wolves--even puppies! If more people really knew the context of her "leadership" on the treatment and management of rare wildlife during her tenure, it would better inform their judgment of her "character."

Whats point about killing animal on tv Everyday people always kill animals , If you eat meat that means that person killed the animal And that's the way we eat. If that person killed that animal in your two eyes Would you be against that person just like sarah She killed the caribou because she want her family to be full and she doesnt want them to be hungry so bad And they are gonna be warm instead of being cold

@Frank I guess the bottom line is this: Hunting for sport has been done for some time now and usually for reasons that include garnering points with other hunting buddies (do you really think they'd shoot the buck or lion for simply interesting decor or the fact that they can share stories with their buddies). ---- That's what I don't understand. Hunting is a hobby of a lot of Americans. And frankly, his condemnation sounds as silly as Jack Thompson. Let's face it guys if this were a democrat doing the hunting or taking video of the hunt would this really have been an issue? Probably not. Laura makes a good point. Ultimately the best thing anyone can do is not give the attention that Palin wants. That should have included the show from the get go.. but honestly? This would have been canceled weeks ago if politicians simply ignored it but now people are commenting on their blogs or watching the show out of curiosity..

I find very interesting that the concept of America being a free country is often used by people who just want to carry on their selfish lifestyles. I'm all for democracy, obviously, but there's a limit - doing the right thing has to be more important. PS. I'm not American.
