Jessica Simpson Flips Over Nick Lachey-Vanessa Minnillo Engagement

Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey just got engaged, and according to Us Weekly, his previous spouse, Jessica Simpson is "flipping out" over the news.

Only a good way, of course.

"I am extremely, extremely happy for him," she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. "My mom actually called me and said that everyone was saying that I was 'saddened.' I was just in complete shock. I couldn't be more happy for Nick."

"Our relationship was over a long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa [Minnillo]," she went on. "I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best."

Simpson says she's content with her new beau Eric Johnson, who she gushes about, but who we're guessing he hasn't gotten Jessica Simpson pregnant. Yet.

The only issue, she says, is where to spend the coming months. "Having a boyfriend through the holidays, we're going to see how all that splits up," she said.

    i'm just gonna say this and yeah... she wanted it but it wasn't because she was over nick, because she wanted to further her career, nick was her first EVERYTHING you can't change your history. she loved him and he loved her it just didn't work out in the end.

    How does it even look like jealousy she is wishing them the best and i agree damn people are the ones making her jealous by putting her all in nicks mouth damn let her be i do admit her announcing her engagement so close to his is crazy but damn does she seem jealous to you she doesent to me ... If she was so jealous then why isent she atleast trying to get him back and what does jealousy have to do with her maturity or educational level so shes dumb that automatically makes her jealous? come on folks lets get real ... She hasent said not 3 words to nick since there divorce and ya she did divorce him some people are just as dumb as the paparazzi and her ....

    i think she is jealouse because she knows that she can't have him anymore because she said is it chicken or tuna how studip can she been and by putting your life on mtv that will make your merriage sliptville hope she learns her lessons
