Happy 18th Birthday, Miley Cyrus!

The singer/actress first rose to prominence in 2006 as the star of Hannah Montana. Since then, she's literally grown up in front of the world's eyes, receiving criticism over the last few months for making such blatant attempts to prove her maturity that she rarely wore pants on stage.
But Miley's fans have been pointing to this date all along, awaiting the time they can say Cyrus can legally vote, purchase tobacco and serve in the armed forces... so critics can finally shut the heck up about her supposedly inappropriate ways.

@Cast: Minor or not, teens are sexual beings and no matter what kind of spin or stigma society tries to put on it they have the right to express and explore their sexuality. Two years ago Miley Cyrus was 16. If at 16 a person is old enough to operate a motor vehicle, hold down a job, get emancipated from their parents, and consent to sex then the young adult is clearly old enough to make their own choices about something as SMALL as fashion. The government puts no age-based restrictions on clothing so it doesn't matter that she started dressing sexy as a minor- it's a personal choice. As far as those pictures go, you don't have the whole story. Just because she took those photos doesn't mean her parents approved- kids and teens do things behind their parents' backs all the time. Anyways, NOW THAT MILEY IS 18 AND AN ADULT THE THINGS SHE DID WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER SHOULD NOT BE HELD AGAINST HER. Period.
