Dolly Parton to Critics: Leave Miley Cyrus Alone!
Country music legend is admittedly biased, but she has a message for critics of Miley Cyrus:
Give the girl a break!
In an interview with Fox News, Parton is asked about the rebukes of Miley's new image these days and says: "I've known her since she was a baby." She then takes the same stance on digs directed at Cyrus as Miley herself takes on pants:
"I hate it when people criticize her," Dolly says.
Parton continues to praise her "honorary goddaughter," adding: "She is a great singer; she has a great voice. She's a great little entertainer and she can speak to you like she is 50 years old."
We guess that's true. At least if 50 year-olds are known for spouting Hallmark card-like cliches about love and life.
In closing, Dolly seems to at least acknowledge that Miley's new CD has been a bust on the charts, but the singing legend takes a grander, positive view of her young pal:
"She'll land in the right place. I really know she has everything it takes. She is just trying to find her way and she will."
Those words sound eerily similar to what some people said about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan back in the day. Let's hope Miley's path ends in a different location from that of those two trainwrecks.

Dolly knows the industry and is very astute. She also actually knows Miley Cyrus, unlike most of the twits that write about her and are interested in turning her into a scandal a la some other fallen female young star. And Dolly's right in terms of Miley being able to talk to you like she's 50. I've seen Miley in numerous interviews and she has insights and wisdom that most begin to possess in their mid 40s to 50s and are beginning to express. Miley doesn't strike me as taken with the Hollywood lifestyle, she can at least put it in perspective unlike Lohan who was consumed by it. And Miley is such a different person than Lohan, much, much more confident and stronger without the obvious history of addiction and possible mental illness in her family. Just because Miley's obviously sexually charged doesn't mean she's a trainwrec. That's silly.

The pubic wants REAl stories about NON celebrities. Everything that could ever happen to a celeb has already happened. Rehab. Jail. Affairs. Divorce. Adopting black children. Divulging childhood traumas. Cooking. Spats. Secrets that are never really secrets. Their stupid pets. Or like Pam Anderson, her fake love for pets, while she's neglecting her kids. Abusing partners. Drunken escapades. New movie roles. Tattoos with boyfriend or husband’s name. Saying they’re gay or bisexual. BORING. BORING. UGH so cliche! Game over. Move on. Celebrities just aren't that important anymore. The world has gotten smarter. And more serious.
