Bravo, Idiots: Tareq and Michaele Salahi Crash State Dinner; President Not Pleased
If you thought the Balloon Boy hoax was as far as you'd see aspiring reality TV jokers go for 15 minutes of fame, you don't know Michaele and Tareq Salahi.
The Virginia couple somehow managed to crash a state dinner at the White House this week and get up close and personal with President Barack Obama.
They are now the subject of a federal investigation.
The Secret Service is looking to file charges against Michaele and Tareq Salahi, who were attempting to land a spot on Bravo's The Real Housewives of D.C.
On Tuesday, the Salahis snuck into the president's first state dinner, honoring the prime minister of India, then posted pictures of themselves schmoozing.
Amazingly, Michaele and Tareq Salahi even managed to meet Barack and Michelle Obama in a receiving line, bypassing security with no invite or red flag.

On the verge of launching the D.C. installment of its reality franchise, Bravo is trying distance itself from it, saying the Salahis' participation is "not finalized."
"[Show producers] Half Yard Productions were filming the Salahis that day as they prepared for the event, that's the extent of our involvement," Bravo said Friday.
So they told producers they were invited and were filmed getting ready. That doesn't explain how they got in, of course, and President Obama isn't taking it lightly.
The matter has been referred to the Secret Service's internal affairs division, leading to a full investigation, according to Secret Service spokesman Jim Mackin.
While Mackin said the agency hasn't determined if party crashing is illegal, it hasn't ruled out pursuing criminal charges against the fame-seeking socialites.
Secret Services is taking full responsibility for the mishap, saying procedures likely weren't followed at the checkpoints and invites weren't checked properly.

You are obviously a fool. It's not a matter of jealousy. Entering the White House without proper permission is a crime. They entered the Obama's home without invite and unlawfully. What don't you, Flint, and James understand about criminal trespassing? If someone knocks on your door dressed like a cop and gains access to your home then proceeds to rob you, nobody says well I give them all the credit in the world for fooling you. It's still a crime.

It's not hating on them you fool. The White House is a highly restricted area - the building and surrounding grounds. People have been jailed just for throwing things over the fence onto the White House lawn. So to actually breach security and entered the building can be considered unlawful entry and/or trespassing - both illegal by the way. They should definitely face punishment for this stunt and everyone from the person at the gate that let them drive in all the way up to the SS agents that stood by and watched intruders touch the president should be looking for new jobs. Whether you lover or hate Obama, he is still the president and the rules of security have not changed.

I can't believe people are taking this lightly. They are con-artists. It is known that they have been stealing all the money from the charity events they host to support their lavish lifestyle. Being bankrupt obviously they never had the money to host the events, unless original purpose of the charity was to steal the money. Their charity is not even registered and officials have issued warnings to give money to them at their own risk. They owe tons of money to vendors and clients in the hundreds of thousands.
And the reason why they take so many pictures with famous people is to use it to continuously con people of their money. It's too obvious. They should be prosecuted so that they won't try to con others of their money in the future.

To Polo Pro: I agree with you that this couple, if indeed they are as you claim, are classless wannabes and deserve to pay the consequences for their behavior.
You, however, are demonstrating the same propensities that scream "new money" that the Salahis are. I am by no means wealthy myself, but I do know some people who are "old money." They have something in common; they do not brag on their wealth, glam (i.e, polo ponies),or social circles; in fact, they are more apt to deny any of it and dress and behave so inconspicuously that if one didn't know them personally, they would never know they had substantial bank accounts.
My point is, you are demonstrating the very "new money," pretentious behavior for which you revile the Salahis. From what I can see, you're cut from the same overpriced cloth.

R. Nolan - White Trash? His name, Tareq Salahi, is Arabic. How about labeling the incompetent Security for their stupidity? With all of the "jobs" that are being created, maybe they should consider hiring some whites for a change.

I worked for Tareq Salahi years ago at Oasis Winery and I can attest to the fact that the man has no scruples but a lot of charm -- exactly what you need to pull off a stunt like this. He's ruined his family and put his sweet parents in the poorhouse -- his father is in terrible health and rumors around Hume is that it's in large part to what Tareq an Michaele have put him through.
Ironic side note: While Tareq still lived in an apartment off the winery and was on one of his myriad vacations, he scheduled a winery event incorrectly so that the caterers dropped the food off 2 hours before the guests arrived. There was no kitchen in the winery so we had to jimmy open his apartment window to reheat the food. When he came back from his trip he was furious we'd "broken in".
And now he's broken into the freakin' WHITE HOUSE.

I see you were obviously educated at the same establishments are the classless (and to quote JJ above) pond life dwelling couple in question.
