Insane Fans Happy For Clay Aiken, Jaymes Foster
Fans of singer Clay Aiken, also known as "Claymates" are showing support after a representative for producer David Foster confirmed that Aiken is fathering a child. David's sister, music producer Jaymes Foster, is the mother.
"OMG Clay Aiken is my Hero," writes one fan on a Clay site.
"I love him and wish him the best of luck!"
Adds another on the same site:
"Now today I almost choked on my sandwich, Clay is going to be a father? And in three months? It blew me over. All I can say is 'Congratulations!' That is going to be one handsome and talented baby."
Still, some have expressed doubts about Clay Aiken's impending fatherhood.
"How can he have time with his baby if he's always on a busy schedule. Like tours, CD releases, talk show[s]. Life becomes crazy with a baby."
"I don't know what to say... I am shocked and awed," another wrote." I don't know what to think. It is going to take me a while, but I do feel a little different about it."
Still, the majority of comments on fan sites and blogs were positive.
One person in the Claymates Yahoo group gushed, "I think the child would be so lucky to have them as parents. ... This is their business and we should not be judging Clay Aiken or Jaymes Foster."
The page dedicated to Aiken on popular music widget iLike had also had supportive comments. Writes one fan:
"Wow ... I am kind of shocked. But Clay always wanted to be a father so good for him! It was just sudden news, I am still shocked ... I wonder if his kid will inherit his pipes!"
Adds another:
"Here's a toast to Clay and Jaymes for the healthy arrival of their baby in August. This baby will be loved, however it came to be. "Lover All Alone" is a great collaboration with David Foster ... and this will be a great collaboration with his sister Jaymes. Congrats!"

A child is a gift from God, and who deserves a child more than Clay, I know in my heart he will be a wonderful father...CONGRATULATIONS CLAY!!

I guess they don't REALLY mean his sister...right?

What you DON'T know is there are literaly hundreds of Clay Aiken fan boards that are inaccessable to the public. I know because I am a member of one of them. The more outrageous and over the top 'Claymates' post publicly so you are only getting a small sampling of opinion.
Many, many of Clay's fans ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT ANY PART OF THIS STORY if in fact, it is true. We believe and have for a long time that Jaymes Foster is a schemer who has been lusting after Clay Aiken for over two years (must video and pictoral evidence to support this). The woman can't keep her hands off him. Many of us think she suckered him in with a sob story just to get her hooks on him for life.
By the way, I am NOT a 'Claymate' and DETEST that term.

I'm very happy for Clay and very shocked. I will be having my first baby in December so it will be really neat to have a child the same age as Clay's. I love Clay Aiken and wish him all the best in the world!
June 2nd, 2008 5:01 PM
First off,
Jaymes is pregnant. As far as we know Clay is not the father. So people need to back off of him. He will say what he needs to say when HE himself wants to say it.
June 4th, 2008 5:25 PM
Well, all my best wishes to the baby. I hope he has a wonderful, blessed and healthy life ahead of him surrounded by people who love him and only want the very best for him.
June 8th, 2008 3:04 PM
I wish them a beautiful baby and have no doubt it will be. And talented too. He'll be a wonderful father.
July 3rd, 2008 2:30 PM
Jaymes is OLD!
July 4th, 2008 7:00 PM
Clay can barely take care of himself, much less a child. This seems like it was a very selfish choice. I hope and pray the baby will be healthy and these parents will have plenty of good, daily, support.

I quoted the above from the story simply because there really isn't a way to know the true reaction of his fans because the fan boards, including Clay's Official Fan Club message board won't allow his fans to discuss this story. It is off limits. Period!!! It is true that neither Clay nor Jaymes have made a comment one way or the other so no one knows if this story is even true.
This media story from a trash/gossip tabloid was, however, posted at the Official Fan Club by an over zealous, got to be the first to post, post-whore who is a moderator and goes by the name butterflyshine. If you don't believe me go over and see how many threads are started by her. She needs to be fired!!!!! Some members there feel that if it were true then Clay should be the one to announce it not the media and certainly not a moderator who doesn't know if the story is true or not and who broke the rules of the board by posting a story that is "speculation" "gossip" and/or "personal". Shame on her for breaking the rules of the board that she has been chosen to enforce.
Some of his fans feel that by Clay not addressing it in some form or fashion is a poor, lame way to treat his devoted, extremely supportive fans. His career depends on fans and while he might feel that he doesn't owe his fans anything, if the story is true, this is big news and as a card carrying member of his fanclub (Yes! I am a Claymate), his fans do deserve some response to news like this either from him or from a reputable representative appointed by him.
If this story turns out to be true, I would just like to say that many of his fans are not happy about it and are feeling disgusted at the thoughts of it and lied to and betrayed by Clay. Disgusted at the thoughts of it in general and disgusted that he hasn't told us. Some feel betrayed and let down by a man who we have believed to be the epitome of wholesomeness and the values that he has espoused to. Just a thought to ponder.... having a baby outside of marriage doesn't sound much like "God's Will or God's Path" that he would want us to follow.
There are some fans who feel that this is just another media story that plays into the old and overdone adage that Clay's fans are all a bunch of old women who are gray haired and ready for the nursing homes. So since Clay don't have any young, attractive, healthy, vibrant fans he has taken an old one who is on the edge of menopause to have his baby. Maybe he hasn't heard and she didn't share the info on the possibilities of "birth defects, retardation and Downs Syndrome" with women bearing children in the menopausal age.
The other theory is that the media has come up with this story to in someway represent Clay's "coming out" and that Jaymes is merely a surrogate Mom for Clay and his lover. That is tired and overdone too. How many times and how many ways does one have to say that they are not gay!?!?!
Whenever this story reaches fruition, I just hope that Clay still has some fans. The outlandish story of the love struck gay marine who was theoretically used, abused and dumped at the (in his mind only) altar never made it past the first layer of "new" fans who didn't have a clue about Clay Aiken. The gay webcam stories bit the dust with a huge chuckle when the pictures surfaced without a head. (Hahahaha .... get real). And now this.
This story, however, seems plausible seeing how he wants children, and he and Jaymes are good freinds as well as co-workers but so is he and Quiana... wonder if her feelings are hurt that he didn't choose her? Or how about Jaime? Yeah it is rumored that she is his cousin but there really is no blood relations since she was related to his step-father and not really related to him at all. So Jaime could have antiseptically mothered a child for Clay by in vitro. How about his long lasting and much trusted friends Kristy or Amy? Or how about his beloved fan and concert side kick "Ethel"? She reported recently that she attended an after party at an event that Clay attended. So they must be very close... wink, wink. Jaymes, however, is new as fans or friends go and again because of her age and location, location, location, too bizarre for many of his fans to swallow.
Right now, as a long time fan, I just refuse to believe anything unless I hear it from Clay. That has been his instructions to us in the past so I am sitting still and waiting to hear from him. I do have an opinion, however, on the media story though and my opinion is "TOO BIZARRE" for this Claymate who knows or thinks that she knows THE MAN.

As I read your whole post "Using My Voice" I found it a bit contradictory. First, you say no one is allowed to discuss it on the mb's then you start talking about what "some" fans believe. Why don't you just say it is what YOU believe and is YOUR opinion?
Clay is in no way obligated to talk about his personal life to anyone but his closest friends and family. On LKL he said he was taking back his life and since then has not shared personal things like he once did.
That said, it is only natural that many would like to know the facts in this "story". I suspect we will know those facts if and when Clay and/or Jaymes decide to share. For now everything is speculation no matter what side you are on.
As for Clay not being able to take care of himself--haha!! what a joke...I suppose you know him personally and see him regularly? How would anyone know such a thing? It appears to me that he is a man who makes his own decisions without regard to what either fans or haters think. I think it's great he doesn't let those people influence him and just goes about living his life.
July 5th, 2008 11:15 AM
In response to rs at 9:19 am
I never said that Clay can't take care of himself!!!
I don't think that you know what the word contradictory means. It is not contradictory to say that no one is allowed to discuss this subject on his fan message boards and then to relate what fans are thinking and saying outside these message boards. It is two totally different subjects but not contradictory. There are definitely other conversation mediums other than fan message boards. Have you ever heard of private blog sites, private fan clubs, private fan meetings, private emails, telephone, etc. where people are allowed to express their feelings? I doubt it because you are probably one of those who only hangs out and gets all your information at fan message boards where they don't really know anything.
You just sound like a fan who believes whatever you think that Clay would want to hear. As if you would know. Errrr that means that you have no opinion on the subject, you just argue with those who do. Boring!!!!!
I will go back to my original true meaning for posting (even though it goes over some people's heads) and that is that all fans are not thrilled at the prospects of Jaymes Foster, a 50 year old menopausal fan/friend/co-worker, having Clay's baby when there are many young healthy females around him who are sincerely trusted friends, co-workers, and fans and are people who he has known for many, many years.
July 5th, 2008 2:04 PM
Although some negative comments were posted about this on Clay Aiken's OH-ficial fan board, they were later deleted by the inimitable and over the top moderator/claymate, Butterflyshine.
And it is NOT Clay Aiken's private business. A baby is PUBLIC business when it is conveived in as weird and bizarre circumstances as this. Many fans DO NOT believe what he has allegedly done fits in at all with the personna he projects. God would NEVER lead anyone down the path of having an illigitimate child. The devel's handy work yes, but God's plan? Absolutely NOT.
I no longer trust Clay Aiken to be the personna he projects.
July 5th, 2008 3:59 PM
The comment on Clay not being able to take care of himself should have been directed to "she'snotasoldasyouthink, butstill", Sorry that wasn't made clear.
Although I believe it is Clay's private business I will say that I personally don't agree with all his choices either, but it is his life to live. Going one step further, Jaymes took full advantage of Clay to tie herself to him as the ultimate Claymate.
And I also agree about butterflyshine. It's time for her to retire as an OFC mod. She plays favorites and promotes her own agenda--anything but impartial.
And for Katicans--people change. Clay was 24 then, he's almost 30 now. People change a lot over a period of six years and especially with the crap that has been thrown at him. He hasn't projected that personna for a long time, the fans have put that on him. Don't be so judgmental.
July 5th, 2008 5:32 PM
I don't understand the title of this blog. So, any fan that is happy for Clay and Jaymes is labeled "insane?" We're only sane if we're NOT happy that a precious, very wanted child is about to enter the world? Strange reasoning, that.
July 5th, 2008 5:36 PM
God would NEVER lead anyone down the path of having an illigitimate child. The devel's handy work yes, but God's plan? Absolutely NOT.
And Katicans - I wonder how one can be so versed in what the devil's handiwork is and not even be able to spell it.
You have no idea what God might have led Clay to do. You don't even know the relationship between Clay and Jaymes, only what the tabloids, whose sole agenda seems to make every move Clay makes into something gross and icky, had to say about it. They could be a married couple for all we know.
July 5th, 2008 5:54 PM
I can spell. I just can't type very well. What's your excuse for misspelling music?
"They could be a married couple for all we know."
Quit kidding yourself. If they were married we would most certainly know about it. Of course, they could still get married. I would throw up but at least it would give this precious, innocent, unborn child the legitimacy he deserves.
I will say it again. Perhaps your 'god' might but the God I know and love would not lead anyone down the path Clay has taken! It would be like saying God would lead someone to steal. That's just crazy. God does not lead people into sin and shame on anyone who says He does!
July 5th, 2008 7:32 PM
I am a Clay Aiken fan. And, however this story turns out, I will still be a fan. At the moment, I really do not believe Clay is the father. I just don't think this is something Clay would do, unless he was in love with the person. And, well, yea, maybe he and Jaymes are secretly married. But, really, I don't think so. If by chance it is true. .it is veyr possible, Clay could have done it for Jaymes.. as in helping her out as a friend. Clay is very giving and generous. In that respect I could see him doing this for Jaymes. Not for himself. But. then in that same resepct.. unless, Clay were to walk away, and let Jaymes raise this baby 100% herself. It's the only way I could se Clay doing this. He would want to be apart of his child's life. Not just part time. Not just once in a while. All the time. Which this is why I think Clay did not do this. When asked not too long ago, if Clay would ever adopt a child from any of the countries, he's visited with UNICEF. He said, no, cause it wasn't the right time in his life for a child, cause he wouldn't have the time he would want to devot to a child. So.. then we're supposed to believe he would turn around a father a chlid, and let the chlid live for the majority of the time across the country from him, or in another country? (Jaymes resides in LA and in Vancouver.)
What I think is very sad, is all these no reputable rags, publish these kinds of stories, and the public is so quick to believe anything they read. And, then.. even faster to judge. Clay has alwaus said ,he does the best he can by his faith, but he said weather it be his faith or other aspects of his life, he is not perfect. And, he doesnt' pretend to be. Sure.. Clay has shared hiw faith with us, and uses many examples of how his faith guides his life. At the same time, this is why Clay is so very uncomfortable, with his fans sticking him up on a pedistal and pretending he never does anything wrong. And, then when he does make mistakes. ( not this baby rumor, but other minor things). Everyone is ready to jump up in arms, and tar and feather him for the slightest things that he does wrong. Clay is not perfect. Sometimes, his advisors around him are not perfect. No body is perfect. And, it's amazing how, Clay can do all of these wonderful things.. but, then if he chose something for him, that was right to him.. sure, not everyone is going to like his choice.. but, they are ready to just abandon him. Can the man not do anything that is just a little off? When was he made a saint. He's a human being. With a heart, and a brain, and feelings, and maybe doesn't always make the choices we like. But, he needs to please himself first. No matter what the outcome of this is.. if he is the baby's father. If they are married or not. Clay is still the best role model out there. I would love to see a celebrity who has more integrity and morals then Clay Aiken. When all is said and done, I wouls still want my children looking up to Clay, then anyone else out there today.
Clay will say whatever needs to be said, about this situation when he is ready. It is possible, he has been advised not to say anything yet. There could be many reasons for this. I just am so sad, that so many , are ready to jump and believe people like TMZ. .over Clay first.

Katican, I don't know what God you know, but my God sets the lonely in families, according to the Bible, and Clay has been set in a new little family with Jaymes and the baby. I love God's plans!
July 6th, 2008 1:15 AM
Oh my word, vtime. If you think an illegitimate child is a part of God's plan for Clay, you need to get re-read the scripture and grasp God's truth instead of twisting the meaning of the verses to acquit Clay. My Bible says God makes a home for the lonely (by providing him with a WIFE and children).
And why do you think Clay is so lonely? He has a family who loves him.
I really feel for all of Clay's remaining fans. He isn't in chains and incommunicado yet he hasn't even blogged so much as a hello. The arrogance he is exhibiting is really mean and thoughtless. The fans who have stuck with him through thick and thin deserve better.
July 6th, 2008 4:35 AM
Katicans, you're an idiot. Noone has the right to expect anything. Its his life, his blog and you are a vicious busybody. Go back to your hater sites Kathy. You've succeeded in proving what a fool you are.
July 6th, 2008 4:53 AM
Clay will comment when he is ready. For many, reasons it is possible that he has been advised not to comment yet. Not commenting, is not arrogance. Clay is the least arrogant person there is. He is just accustomed to dealing with bullies. And, this is exactly what all this gossip is right now. Tabloids being bullies. What I feel even sorrier for, is the fans that walked away, without ever waiting to hear the truth. And, jumping immediatley to the conclusion that TMZ is so honest and forthright. A man who has just spent 5 days in Somalia.. I don't think that is a man who is arrogant.
There could be many reasons why Clay has not commented on this. The one of many, the story was told before Jaymes was ready to tell it. And, if Clay is not the father, then it's not Clay's story to tell. That is just one of many reasons, along with what I opened with.. there could be many reasons, that Clay has been advised to say nothing yet. There is always timing, and a reason for everything Clay does.
And, Clay is not a mean person, or thoughtless. Look at others out there. There you will see mean and thoughtless people. If not speaking to his fans on demand is mean and arrogant, and thoughtless.. then, I suggest people who go find an obedient celebrity to admire. And, then they can talk away about all of the drugs they do, and all the people they sleep with. And, they can explain, why it's all so good, to have lyrics in their songs, about rape, and killing, and other lewd things that children shouldn't be hearing.
I think people need to look at other celebrities out there, and before they cast stones, about morality and role models.. think about what is out there.. and then what Clay stands for. He still stands for everything he has always believed. Yes, he has grown up some. He has gotten more comfortable in this business. He's gotten more comfortable with his fans. He's loosened up a bit. As he says, he's not a saint. He is human. And, he has always claimed, he is not as inncoent, as we may all think. And. .he is a grown man. Still.. his lack of innocence, should be the worst that other celebrities, do out there. You take Clay. .and put him up against, about 90% of the celebrities out there. .and Clay still wins hands down when is comes to morals, and being a good role model.
And, these tabloids.. they need to be locked down for good. They have no business reporting other people's business. I do not care if they are a celebrity or not. YEs.. let them be at movie screenings.. or award shows.. maybe even once in awhlie around town. But, they have no business, poking into anyone's personal lives. And.. worst all reporting stories, that they do not have all of the facts, or have any kind of corraboration. And more then one back up souce. These are people's lives they are messing with. Why doens't anyone knock them off of their pedistal for lack of morality? People need to stop believing everything they hear, the minute they hear it. And. I think it's pretty sad to turn on someone, before knowing the facts. Or knowing the truth. And, then whatever the truth is.. not bothering to find out the circumstances. Clay does not deserev that from his fans. Yes, we've done a lot for him, but so has he done a lot for us. And, he shows us time time again, how much he appreciates us. I think.. it's too bad on the other side. people who just leave at the sign of a little trouble. without knowing what's going on. Whatever happened to loyalty/ Innocent until proven guilty? Whatever happened to giving someone a fair chance? What ever happened to accepting people's choices for their own lives? Even if you don't understand, and approve.. is one thing, enough to just throw someone away? If so. then there are going to be many people in this world who are alone. Cause if they expect so much perfection from the people in their lives.. they will push away everyone, eventually. Cause, everyone makes mistakes. Everyone makes a chioce from time to time, that others may not agree wtih. Does that mean we just cast everyone away? I hope not.
July 6th, 2008 6:04 AM
Well, Katicans, the Bible also says judge not, lest ye be judged. So, I'm not so concerned about 'twisting verses to aquit Clay' since you are not qualified to convict him. You are not in the middle of that faithful man's relationship with God.
You're also not involved in the fans' relationship with Clay, so you can relieve yourself of worry for them about how Clay 'should' do them better.
Have a nice day, full of life. Clay probably is!
July 6th, 2008 11:44 AM
I see the poison pen claymates have arrived. It doesn't take much to get them riled either. Ask any DJ from Maine to California.
They remind me of battered spouses defending the brute who just abused them.
And Vtime, you have just judged Clay Aiken yourself, as "faithful". So it is OK to judge him as 'faithful' but not unfaithful? I see.
And since when have some of Clay's fans had 'a relationship with Clay' other than in a delusional sense?
I never did put Clay on a pedestal like the claymates have but I did expect him to maintain a normal level of decent, moral Southern Baptist behavior. His role model crap now seems hypocritical to me. His deliberate fathering of a child outside the bounds of a legitimate marriage is neither decent or moral behavior in my Book.
And just for the record, I am judging the behavior of Clay Aiken not Clay Aiken. I try to leave things like that to God.
I asked a young Christian man last night if he thought having a child without benefit of marriage was a God plan or a man plan. His answer was "A man plan". I rest my case.
