Eliot Spitzer's "Kristen" Revealed: Ashley Alexandra Dupre
Just 22 years old, Ashley Alexandra Dupre (better known as Kristen), is an unwitting star in a steamy drama that took down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.
Kristen, described in an affidavit as having a February 13 rendezvous with Eliot Spitzer at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, has spent the last few days in her ninth-floor rental in an upscale New York apartment.
According to the New York Times, Ashley Alexandra Dupre made a brief appearance in court Monday as a witness in the case against four people charged with operating the infamous prostitution ring known as Emperor's Club V.I.P.
In a series of telephone interviews Tuesday and today, Ashley Alexandra Dupre said she had slept little over the past week due to the stress from the case.
"I just don't want to be thought of as a monster," the pretty New Jersey native - 5-foot-5 and 105 pounds - said as she revealed the tiniest tidbits of her story.
Born Ashley Youmans but now known as Ashley Alexandra Dupre or "Kristen," she spoke softly, with good humor, and added with significant understatement:
"This has been a very difficult time. It is complicated."
Ashley Alexandra Dupre has not been charged as of this post.
The lawyer appointed to represent her, Don D. Buchwald, told a judge in court on Monday that she was subpoenaed to testify in a grand jury investigation.
Eliot Spitzer, who is married to Silda Spitzer and has three teenage daughters, announced today that he will resign as governor effective Monday.

So unfortunate. But I have to admit, I blame him more than her - she needed the money, and he was willing to exploit her. I hope she ends up okay somehow, and I hope he burns for this - not that he isnt already.

I really think people make a huge deal out of nothing. Really. Everybody has sex. Everybody enjoy's it. No body gets hurt. It's a win/win. If I were a woman, if I was attractive. i feel greatest sympathy for her .. an girl got to do what need to do to survive, which is morally higher level then those who rape , robbed , steal , to make their living..she didn't kill anyone nor hurt anyone, she is merely trying to survive.. life is biggest struggle .. not all of us have luck born in an rich and wealthy family..

This whole mess sticks to high heaven and smacks with hypocrisy! Both Spitzer and Dupre are guilty of committing a crime. And, the intent to commit this crime weighs equally on both sides as it relates to "lust": One lusted for sex while the other lusted for money; one of them just so happened to be an elected official who violated his oath and betrayed the public while the other was a "poor, broken young girl" (boo-hoo-hoo) who found it easier to make money by spreading her legs and who somehow could not comprehend the idea that there are other ways to make money without breaking the law. While I am not morally opposed to the "oldest profession in the world", the fact remains that a crime was committed and both, as well as the "Madam" who coordinated the ring, should be prosecuted. However, it appears that while Spitzer will take the fall under the harshest of penalties, and rightfully so, Dupre will walk away from this, not only without criminal charges brought against her, but a celebrity status to boot. What kind of message does this send? She should punished too. She was a willing and active participant in carrying out this crime; therefore, she deserves jail time. Enough of the poor, whiney stories about supposed broken homes, busted up families, and such... Who is to say that the Spitzer is not a victim of a sexually repressed society? Seems like a reasonable argument considering the same tactic is being used by Dupre--"Pity the hooker 'cause she don't know better and she's poor"--yeah right!! It's clear that the more you attempt to victimize either one of them, the more you play at the public's heart strings and the closer you get to letting one of them get away with a crime. Let's see, what's the expression? Oh yeah..."What's good for the goose is good for the gander"!!!

That this prostitute may not be accountable and punished for breaking the law is a terrible message for our sons and daughters and society as a whole. That the media is elevating her to celebrity status sends a terrible message about America to the world.

This is crazy. I never liked Spitzer or his politics but being a "John" isn't a crime and prostitution shouldn't be. It should be legalized and regulated like in most civilized countries. How much tax payers money is wasted on going after what consenting people do between the sheets? There are real criminals out there to catch. Also, legalizing and regulating it would help government agencies fight human trafficking and child prostitution.
