The final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians was filmed months ago.
This means that, at the time, Khloe Kardashian had no idea about Tristan Thompson's alleged side piece, Sydney Chase.
Khloe has been speaking so excitedly of using a gestational carrier for baby #2.
As you can see in this clip, she's taking time to reconsider some things.
Khloe was previously advised that, if she were to become pregnant now, it would be high risk.
She wisely explored surrogacy -- specifically, a gestational carrier -- as an alternative.
Kim has had not one but two positive experiences with the process, which is how the world got Chicago and Psalm.
So, as you can see in this clip, Khloe sat down with her sister Kim in order to discuss her options.
It turns out that Khloe's nervousness was manifesting in some unhinged standards for a potential surrogate.
For example, she confessed to Kim that she ruled out one potential surrogate over her music tastes.
One potential surrogate enjoys EDM, and decided that this woman must be a drug user.
That's bizarre; a little like assuming that someone who likes Country music is a gun nut or something.
In reality, liking EDM just means that you have good taste, just as liking Country means the opposite.
Khloe and Tristan spoke to a surrogacy therapist via video chat.
In addition to being evaluated for the process, the goal was also to make sure that they fully understand.
But one of the therapist's questions took them a little by surprise.
"What are your beliefs about fetal reduction or termination of pregnancy due to multiple pregnancies?" the therapist asked.
It was then explained: "Say, the embryo splitting and the surrogate was carrying twins suddenly."
Khloe answered: "If we're blessed to have multiples we think that's in God's will, so we're on board with that."
"And what if your surrogate wasn't on board with that?" the therapist replied.
Khloe ended up being confused by this response.
She asked: "But don't they have to kind of go with what our wishes are?"
Surrogates of any kind, including gestational carriers, do not surrender their personhood and human rights.
"Well, it's your baby but it's her body so she could terminate the pregnancy with any unplanned outcome," the therapist explained.
"Oh," Khloe replied simply.
Tristan admitted: "We never thought about that. …"
He added: "That'd be something that we have to discuss."
And Khloe sort of began to spiral as she realized that hiring a surrogate is not the same as buying a human to be your womb-pet.
"I'm definitely getting freaked out I think as the questions go by," she confessed.
Khloe was freaking out "just because I, of course, I know it's her body, my baby, but I really did not put two and two together."
She realized "that that means she has the control whether she would want to, you know, terminate the twin."
"Me not having control over that outcome, makes me very nervous," Khloe confessed.
"I mean, I know it's her body," she affirmed, "but I still didn't know it was really her choice."
Khloe continued: "and that might be really naive to say but I mean this is a big eye opener."
"I'm definitely second-guessing a couple things," Khloe acknowledged.
She described: It's just a little intense this whole Zoom call."
If that makes Khloe uncomfortable, she should be glad that they're discussing a gestational carrier and not traditional surrogacy.
Khloe updated her momager on her conflicting feelings.
"It's just scary like, hearing a lot of those things, I'm like, 'oh my gosh,'" she told Kris.
"Kim just made this seem so seamless and maybe for her, it really was, I think she's way less micromanage-y than I am," Khloe stated accurately.
"The process seems a little bit overwhelming for Khloe," Kris observed.
"And honestly," she continued, "Kim always made it seem so easy and really never shared some of these things with me."
Kris revealed: "So I'm as surprised as they are to hear some of the challenges."
Kris even joked about the idea of her being Khloe's gestational carrier.
Even if doctors would sign off on it, which surely they would not, Kris already had six kids.
Her body has been through enough, and she's not going to bounce back as quickly as she did when she was 30.
"This whole process is incredibly nerve-racking, it's also confusing," Khloe described.
"It definitely makes me think about other options more," she admitted.
Khloe confessed: "I'm starting to wonder if surrogacy is really going to work for me and my family."
Khloe did meet up with a surrogacy broker who assured her that she could get at least some of the control that she craves.
"I feel better but still just don't like talking about this," Khloe shared in an update to Kris and Tristan.
She added: "I feel like I'm talking about only negative things."
Khloe did end up deciding that she wants a surrogacy ... but isn't keen on rushing into it.
"I know you love to be in control, and you love to have your say and be hands on," Tristan told her.
He continued: "But obviously in this situation for us, you kinda have to take a little step back."
"Of course you can monitor but you know we got to trust the process," Tristan advised.
"And," he assured her, "know that everything's gonna be okay and we're in this together, it's gonna be just fine."
"We got this. I think the key is to find the right surrogate," Tristan told her. "When we do, it'll be magic."
