90 Day Fiance is a surging success and has produced many spinoffs.
The latest is The Family Chantel.
This new series, premiering this summer, will follow married couple Chantel and Pedro and their respective families.
Their families do not get along. Sometimes, they themselves do not get along.
In the US and in the Dominican Republic, cameras follow them as they try to resolve their differences.
Naturally, there are even more fights.

The Family Chantel
Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno are the first couple from the 90 Day Fiance franchise to get their very own spinoff, and this trailer shows that they’re absolutely worth it.
Pedro has some regrets
He loves Chantel … but it’s her family that drives him up the wall. And they are NOT sold separately.
Chantel has her own concerns
Chantel has been showing that she’s willing to fight to save her marriage, but she commiserates with friends about Pedro’s divivded loyalties.
Pedro tries some family therapy
With mediation, he expresses that he would truly like for Mr. Everett to be his father-in-law and for River, Chantel’s brother, to be his brother-in-law in more than just name.
But not like this
It’s more than just the fight last year, or the fact that Chantel’s mom purchased a taser specifically to use to intimidate him the next time that he comes over. There are problems that need to be worked out.
Pedro wants to do something else, too
He starts working on paperwork in an attempt to bring his mother and his sister, Nicole, over the United States. This isn’t a vacation — he wants them to reside in the US.
But Chantel and Pedro aren’t the only couple
Chantel’s sister, Winter, and her boyfriend of five years appear on the show, too. It looks like Chantel stirs up some drama and Winter finds out some things about her boyfriend that she never knew.
And of COURSE Mama Everett is on this show
Nobody has ever enjoyed being on camera as much as Chantel’s mom, which is what makes her so entertaining.
But this show doesn’t take place entirely in the US
The Family Chantel takes a trip to the Dominican Republic to face off with The Family Pedro — his mom and sister.
Which leads to a VERY awkward meeting
Chantel sits down with Pedro, his sister Nicole, and Nicole’s friend Coraima.
Chantle knows exactly who that is
She admits that she keeps having these “visions,” referring to flashbacks, of how Pedro danced with Coraima during his indefinite visit to the DR.
Remember this?
Look, to some couples, a dance is no big deal. But this is a girl who’s had a crush on Pedro since they were kids, his friends with his sister who hates Chantel, and cheered that she had helped “get rid of” Chantel after dancing with him.
It was a lot
Lines were crossed, and Chantel has not forgotten.
This leads to another fight
Thankfully, it looks like this time, the fight happened with beverages, not bodies. Definitely an improvement over Pedro’s fight with Chantel’s family last year.
Along comes Obed
Obed also appeared on Happily Ever After? He is a friend of Pedro’s family but has been very forthcoming with Chantel. He believes that Pedro’s mother and sister set him up to meet Chantel in the hopes that he would get papers to go to the US. His theory is that the plan backfired — that they never meant for him to fall in love with Chantel.
Chantel’s mom and dad listen
Painting Pedro’s family as soap opera villains using Pedro as a hapless tool may sound far-fetched, but you can tell that they’re concerned even if they don’t know what to believe. Obed explains that they tried something similar with him. Yikes.
Then comes the big showdown
Chantel and her parents sit across from Pedro (who is wearing one of the best shirts that I have EVER seen on reality television) and his mother and sister, and Pedro protests why Chantel defends her family … even as he does the same.
Nicole does not hold back
Meanwhile, Pedro’s mother goes after Chantel’s parents, accusing them of inviting her children to their house only to attack them.
That’s not a totally unfair characterization
Just as when the brawl broke out at the Everett residence last year, it doesn’t look like any of this conflict gets resolved in the trailer. But there will be more that we didn’t see in the trailer.
The Family Chantel premieres SOON
The season premiere is on Monday, July 22 — Selena Gomez’s birthday, if that makes it as easy to remember for you if it does for me. We cannot WAIT to see this drama unfold.
