Jenelle Evans has told followers that she’s ending her very effed up marriage to David Eason.
But while fans think through the consequences of this decision and even give Evans props for finally arriving at it, they must also now deal with a brand new rumor:
Jenelle Evans may be embarking on a brand new beginning with Teen Mom 2.
According to a new report, the once unthinkable notion of re-hiring Evans is at least being thought about by MTV executives, as they deal with a major drop in the show’s ratings and interest.
Just how bad has it gotten? And could this actually come to fruition?
Scroll down for some facts and some speculation…
She’s Outta There!

It took a very long time, but MTV finally came to its sense in May 2019 when it fired Evans from Teen Mom 2, doing so after the troubled star’s husband, David Eason, shot and murdered their family dog. This actually happened.
MTV Had Already Fired Eason, Of Course
Said the network in a statement this past spring, referencing how it had ended its affiliation with Eason over his many instances of homophobia: âÂÂMTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since. Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
How Did Evans Handle The Firing?

Not terribly at the time. “I was a little bit shocked but I saw it coming,â she told Us Weekly afterward. âÂÂItâÂÂs shocking still but I respect their decision and have nothing but love for MTV. This is a new chapter for me and my family. I will continue to try whatâÂÂs best for me and my family.”
More From Evans:
âÂÂDavid has been here for me since the news broke, he told me to not worry about it and to stay positive,â she added in May. âÂÂIâÂÂm keeping busy and staying focused on my kids and my animals and my business endeavors which have been planned for months. IâÂÂm working to fix my marriage as well and moving forward.âÂÂ
Who Was Brought in to Replace Jenelle?
Jade Cline. She debuted in September 2019 by arguing a lot with her baby daddy, which would make it seem like she’s fitting in very well, right?
Jade Certainly Thinks So
“I wouldn’t consider myself a replacement,” Cline told TMZ this fall. “I think I have a good storyline and my story is really relatable to people. I’m just raw with my story so I hope people really relate to it.”
But Viewers? They Disagree.

The season premiere of Teen Mom 2 — without Jenelle, of course — premiered on September 10, 2019 … to a dismal 810,000 viewers. This was a gigantic drop from the 1.18 million viewers who tuned in for the previous season premiere, according to TVByTheNumbers.com.
Down, Down, Down They Go…
And the ratings then kept dropping, hitting a season low of 650,000 for the October 29 episode of the program.
How Does MTV Plan to Fix This?
You can guess where this is all going, right? Yup: Strong rumors are now circulating that producers might bring Evans back! As a regular cast member!
Come On. Really?!?
âÂÂJenelle has been talking to MTV and it has been about her coming back,â an insider recently said to Radar about the polarizing mother of three.
Would Jenelle Really Want to Return?
Uhhh, YES! She failed miserably in her attempt to start a cosmetics line and multiple reports have said she’s desperate for money.
Goodbye, David. Hello Again, Jenelle?
This would be the main reason MTV would consider running it back with Evans. She plans to file for divorce from Eason, meaning producers wouldn’t need to worry about his presence on the show and could even bill this as some sort of Jenelle redemption story.
See Ya, Loser!
“With time away from Teen Mom, I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now,” Evans wrote on October 31. “The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process.”
Finally, Right?!?
âÂÂThe kids and I have moved away David,â she continued. âÂÂNobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know thatâÂÂs what is best for me, and for my kids. Today IâÂÂve filed papers to start that process.âÂÂ
Evans Then Accused Evans of Abuse and Harassment
Jenelle has obtained a restraining order against Evans after filing paperwork that outlined 11 examples of abuse — emotional and physical — at her husband’s hands over the years.
Going on the Attack
âÂÂBecause of his recent threats, his history of violence, his erratic behavior and his large stockpile of weapons, I am scared for my life and my childrenâÂÂs well-being,” Jenelle wrote in her protective order filing.
Again: Finally, Right?!?
The temporary order of protection was issued for Jenelle and her kids, Jace, Kaiser and Ensley, the latter of whom she shares with Eason.
What Sort of Threats, You May Be Wondering?
Evans alleges, for instance, that David went into a rage after she left town and arranged for childcare without telling him … and sent her a photo of a man he somehow thought was her lover, along with a text that read: âÂÂThis is your new boyfriend. IâÂÂm going to break his neck and feed you his head. My goal in life is to make sure you regret leaving me like this.”
And Then There Was This:

Evans also claimes that David screamed at her in February, saying: âÂÂYou can die for all I care. You’re a piece of sh-t. Biggest piece of sh-t IâÂÂve ever seen.”
Take Me Back!
Evans reportedly earned $400,000 per season of Teen Mom 2, which is a lot more than the zero dollars she’s earning now. Of course she would go back and of course she might think she’s now be wanted with David out of her life.
Drama Does Sell

The lowest-rated episode of Jenelle’s last season garnered 890,000 viewers, compared to the highest-rated in the first season without her, which has drawn 830,000 viewers.
Welcome Back, Girlfriend!

“I always enjoyed my time with her and am just relieved and happy to hear she’s doing what is best for her and her children,” Briana DeJesus has already said about Evans, adding of a possible return: “She stopped talking to me a while back, but I’m open to talking to her again.”
Do YOU Want Evans Back on Teen Mom 2?
It’s an easy idea to mock or scoff over, but ask yourself this: Would you tune in for that season premiere?!? Be honest now.
