90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? Season 7 has arrived!
On the season premiere, all of the couples were familiar … but not everyone is married.
Jenny and Sumit are, however. They are bracing themselves to tell his disapproving parents.
Elizabeth is pushing to launch her music career while Andrei wants a second kid. Meanwhile, nobody’s talking to Charlie.
Now that she’s weaned Mylah, Yara is reclaiming her social life … which leaves Jovi feeling like a “babysitter.”
Finally, Kimberly stuns her friends into a state of silence when she announces her plans to propose to Usman. She wants to be his wife. Well, his first wife.
Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh

We open with these two on roller skates, which is every bit as goofy as it sounds. The two of them begin to recall their history, including the story of how Sumit was catfishing her when they first met online. When Jenny flew out with a plan to marry Sumit on The Other Way’s first season, she discovered that Sumit already had a wife. Since then, his parents have “allowed” him to divorce … but they don’t like Jenny.
They have come a long way since then

On the last season of The Other Way, the two of them finally married. Sumit had delayed and delayed, because his parents disapproved. But Jenny’s tourist visa was running out of extensions, and this was a make-it-or-break-it moment for them. This season filmed just a couple of months after they married.
Jenny and Sumit were going to tell his parents at the Tell All

Contrary to that special’s name, however, they did not tell all. Sumit chickened out of telling Sahna and Anil because they had once again condemned the relationship. But since the show filmed the wedding, they have a ticking clock.
Sumit knows that he needs to be the one to tell them

The Tell All aired in December of 2021. Without knowing the date, we don’t know how long these two have before TLC’s schedule makes the decision for them. But they know that this is hanging over their heads. Sumit is worried about his parents hearing it from someone else. Remember, he is fixated on having a relationship with his parents, no matter how toxic they are or how miserable they make him.
Jenny doesn’t want to go there

They moved to a new home, one where his parents are apparently less likely to swing by. She wants to enjoy their married life.
Sumit is ready

He has already invited his parents over to their home. They’re arriving tomorrow. Hopefully, Jenny knew and is only acting surprised for the camera. That is … not a lot of advanced notice.
The plan is simple: Jenny doesn’t talk

At least, that’s what Sumit suggests at first. He thinks that he should do the talking, because his parents will not react well to Jenny.
His parents arrive … at their old place

There’s a chance that production is playing games, putting old footage in a new context after Jenny and Sumit moved. Or maybe Sumit and Jenny really did invite them to their old place, go fix up that place, and meet them as if they were still living there, all to keep their new home a secret. Sahna, Sumit’s mom, quickly negs Jenny for feeling warm after making tea for them, and then for responding so promptly when she asks her how she is doing. Shree, Amit’s wife (and thus Sumit’s sister-in-law), quietly body-shames Jenny over her “fat” arms. Just a lovely group of people.
Jenny and Sumit recall a pleasant conversation

In the past, Sahna showed friendliness and even warmth towards Jenny, indicating that she would not stand in her way. Of course, when this comes up now, Sahna denies it, immediately growing angry and vowing that Sumit will never marry Jenny. Too late.
Sumit knows that it’s now or never

He tells his mother, father, brother, and sister-in-law that he and Jenny are married. It does not go well.
Sahna could not have taken it worse

She tells Sumit that she does not want to see him again, ever. She tells him that if he shows up at her home, she will not only kick him out, but that she will hurl insults at him. Even when Anil pleads with her to speak “peacefully,” she declines, bursting into tears. Her son is in his thirties and he married the woman with whom he’s been in a relationship for seven years.
Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween

This couple, whom we just saw last week on the Season 9 Tell All, are having “fun” in the snow. Shaeeda is unaccustomed to snow, so Bilal is doing his favorite thing — telling her precisely what he wants her to do. Still, it is certainly more positive than a lot of what viewers have seen from them.
They are just weeks into their marriage

This of course means that they filmed last winter, months and months before the Tell All.
They walk viewers through their relationship’s ups and downs

Bilal is still convinced that Shaeeda “failed” his prank (at least he’s admitting that it was a test), when he took her to a dilapidated house and pretended that it was his residence. We’re unsure of what reasonable response someone could have given that he would prefer to Shaeeda’s. The ceiling was falling apart. Wasn’t the sink busted?
They did marry

Despite Bilal’s extremely unbalanced prenup, Shaeeda did negotiate two amendments to it. One was that they have children before she is 40. She is currently 37. The other is that he help her to start her business, since his prenup means that she gets nothing from him when they divorce — even if it’s in 20 years.
Shaeeda is still adjusting to life in the United States

She orders unsweetened ice tea, which of course is bitter. She is also leery of any steak that is not well done. Many countries have different cultural attitudes towards meat and meat preparation.
Shaeeda is not over her negative encounter with Shahidah

She is still unhappy over Bilal’s ex-wife and the way that she spoke to her about the prenup. It is arguably her business in some ways (she and Bilal share two teenage children), but it was the wrong way to bring up the topic. Frankly, it also feels like Shaeeda is redirecting some of her hurt and frustration with Bilal towards Shahidah.
Shaeeda is admittedly holding onto the anger

She chalks this up to some sort of gender essentialism (girl, what?), but emphasizes that she’s going to try to give Shahidah a chance. After all, they’re linked through Bilal and his kids. That said … she does expect an apology.
Whoops!

Bilal calls Shahidah “Shaeeda” while speaking to Shaeeda, his wife. Them having similar names is awkward, and Shaeeda is clearly upset. Honestly? It’s a small mistake, but we can understand that.
Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet

Libby and Andrrrrei are back, for better or for worse. They’re still the same couple that they’ve always been, only now they’re playing tennis with their little daughter, Ellie.
Oh, and they have a new house

This new home, apparently part of their success as Andrei continues to work in real estate, is the pretext that Libby’s ad uses to pay them a visit and receive a tour.
Things with the family have been … weird

Apparently, almost no one is talking to Charlie, Libby’s brother, after he attacked Andrei at the family BBQ. Charlie’s behavioral problems are clearly out of control. But Libby notes that other members of the family continue to disapprove of Andrei, but she insists that they are “jealous” of his success.
Chuck gets his tour

Libby uses the opportunity to talk about her passion for singing. They have a spare room that they will use as a music studio (yes, she’s clearly trying to drum up interest in her music through the show), possibly even professionally. Andrei brings up that it might become a bedroom if they have a second kid (foreshadowing, since this was filmed before that pregnancy), but gives her “permission” to pursue music. Ugh.
Libby meets up with her sisters Jen and Becky and with their homophobic mom, Pamela

When she’s not making posts about “reclaiming the rainbow” from the LGBTQ+ community during Pride month, Pamela is the only member of the family who is still speaking to Charlie. She also was not there when he launched himself at Andrei in a moment of alarming violence. The discussion only lasts a short while before a sudden rainstorm drives them all inside. Oh, Florida.
Elizabeth makes some great points about parenting

Of course, all of her talk about making sure that Ellie can try a lot of things so that she can figure out what she likes aren’t random. She’s building up to mention that she’s getting back into singing, and wants to do it professionally. Jen and Becky seem unsurprised (ahem) and supportive.
But Pamela wants them to talk to their brother

The sisters explain that they have set a boundary — that Charlie needs help. They’re not interacting with him until he takes the appropriate steps to work on his drinking and behavior. Pamela, of all people, says that this sounds “judgmental.” Maybe the lady posting bigot memes should sit this one out?
Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya

The two are settling into parenthood. Their season clearly filmed early this year (which tracks with the usual guidelines of an average 8-month delay between filming and airing)

Yara is gearing up for a night out with friends. Jovi complains that he feels like a “babysitter.” Fun fact! Watching your actual human child is not babysitting, it is just being a parent. Watching someone else’s child, whether a neighbor’s kid or your younger sibling, is babysitting. We hope that Miss Gwen weighs in on Jovi’s comment during the Tell All, which of course has not yet filmed.
For Yara, making American friends is a big deal

She was so alone for a long time. She only knew Jovi and his family, and she only spent time with Mylah. Remember, she also gave birth during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jovi was stuck overseas for nearly half of that year. Now she has real friends. Also? Jovi used to stay out late at bars and strip clubs. It’s not like Yara is out of control, right?
Things aren’t bad

Jovi does acknowledge that there have been hard moments. If not for Mylah, they’re unsure if they’d still be together. We pretty much knew that already.
Yara meets with her friends, Cymphony and Adele

They enjoy their time out. There is a very different vibe for them than Jovi’s idea of a good time. It feels more Real Housewives. Jovi’s partying feels more Real Housewives of New York City, you know? Yara’s friends are unsurprised to hear that Jovi is still resentful of her outings, but they point out how much time she spent at home, first pregnant and then with a newborn. They are surprised to hear that Yara shares her location with Jovi (though at first, it was just a safety thing after she moved from Ukraine).
Jovi seems insecure. But they understand why

Yara is a total knockout. She is also funny, which is sort of an optional add-on for hot people and, frankly, overkill. They remind her that she could have any man that she wanted, so Jovi is a little nervous. They’re not as harsh as the trailers made it sound, and they emphasize that he’s a cute guy. He’s just not as hot as Yara — we suspect that Jovi would agree.
Yara isn’t feeling so hot, though

After 17 months of nursing (careful, Yara, or the people who despised Emily Bieberly will hate you, too), and of course the changes from pregnancy, she feels very insecure about her breasts.
THERE’S an image

At this point, Yara clearly thinks that her storyline this season is going to be about her new normal with Jovi and her desire for a boob job. Especially since Jovi has apparently made her feel insecure about her boobs with some comments of his own (dude, quit it). Obviously, they filmed these moments before Russia launched its brutal invasion of her homeland.
Kimberly Menzies and Usman “Sojaboy” Umar

These two are not married. They are not even engaged. It’s a little unclear why they’re on Happily Ever After? … to the point where we wonder if they filmed for something else, and got added to this at the last minute. Anyway, Usman negged Kimberly about her teeth, so she’s getting them whitened while her technician pretends to like Usman’s music.
We previously saw them on Before The 90 Days

Usman left Kimberly feeling devasted and humiliated when she learned, on the Tell All, that he had called Zara. Apparently, he apologized profusely, she went to Nigeria, and has now returned. That didn’t end up on film, but Kimberly is catching us up.
She is also bringing her friends up to speed

Kimberly joins Alyssa and Vanessa for dinner, knowing that they do not always understand her relationship. They are clearly concerned that Usman is commenting on Kimberly’s teeth, and surprised that she is returning to Nigeria so soon.
Kimberly is planning to propose to Usman!

She makes her announcement. Her friends respond with nearly ten seconds of silence. Then, the questions begin. Someone needs to ask them.
Kimberly wants Usman’s love and affection

But she cannot give him children, so that is what the “second wife” is for. She doesn’t want this woman to live with her, however. Usman will come over on the K-1 visa, and his second wife will apparently just stay home in Nigeria and pump out Usman’s babies without receiving any of his love or affection. In Kimberly’s mind, this unrealistic portrayal of polygamy seems to make perfect sense.
The questions are too much

Kimberly begins crying and yelling at her friends before storming away from the table. She feels interrogated, but her friends’ questions — simple, common sense questions between friends — are what anyone who loves Kimberly would ask.
Kimberly returns

Her friends emphasize that they still have concerns and are worried about her. They tell her that she has to ask these questions of Usman, and get answers from him. Getting defensive will not help her.
