90 Day Fiance star Steven Frend was hospitalized after an accident.
And the whole thing was caught on video.

Steven and Olga reunited in January and have been spending more time together — for the first time in a long time.
We just hope that Steven can make a swift recovery and that this will not delay his, Olga’s, and baby Alex’s move to the United States.
Steven had an injured spine and neck
First, let’s explain how he ended up in a Russian hospital
Steven has been in Moscow visiting Olga
Steven Frend and Olga Koshimbetova appeared on Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance, but Olga never made it over to the United States. So Steven has been visiting her and they seem much happier than they did on the show.
Most importantly of all …
Steven is using this time to bond with his son, Richie Aleksandr, to whom his parents refer as Alex. Richie is a family name from Steven’s side, and his family relationships are complicated in ways that give him emotional baggage to this day.
Steven’s been enjoying himself
Most parts of the United States do not see snowfall like Russia does in the winter. It’s the kind of weather that can halt an army in its tracks, and despite his efforts to make a snow angel, Steven complained that it was a little too cold for his tastes.
But Steven had a little too much fun
Steven happened to be broadcasting himself on Instagram Live while he was tobogganing when he totally wiped out. Afterwards, he laughed and stood up, even as others rushed towards him with concern.
Their concern was justified
As Steven shared on his Instagram Stories, he went to the hospital, where it was discovered that he has a “small spinal displacement “in his neck. He has to wear a neck brace.
That’s scary
When the doctor tells you to wear a neck brace, it’s no joke. The concern is that things could get worse, not better.
He shouldn’t give Olga any more piggyback rides for a while
Fortunately, it’s not a total loss. Steven is already using his Instagram Stories to show fans and followers what he can get up to in Moscow that won’t endanger his spine.
He’s getting fresh ink!
Steven showed himself, shirtless but wearing a neckbrace, as he underwent extensive tattoo work across his chest.
He bowed out after four hours, however
Four hours of nonstop needle jabbing into your chest is … a lot. Presumably, he’ll go back for more to finish things up.

Not bad. Also, we’re reminded of a photo of a few of his 90 Day Fiance Season 6 castmates, and how starkly his dark tattoo on his fair skin would have stood out had he been part of the picture.

Unlike Jonathan Rivera, Jay Smith, and Asuelu Pulaa, Steven’s lady love was not physically present at the Season 6 Tell All special, so we suppose that he didn’t really feel motivated to party afterwards in the way that some of the stars did after they filmed in November of 2018.
At the Tell All, Steven explained Olga’s absence
Olga teleconferenced to the meeting, but Steven still answered questions for her (stop that, dude). He explained that he had delayed getting her K-1 Visa paperwork started until he had his own place.
So why didn’t he tell her?
Steven said that he worried that Olga would not react rationally to the news while pregnant. Astonishingly, Olga says that she understands why Steven waited to tell her.
Steven and Olga had some … issues
Many 90 Day Fiance viewers found that the way that Steven spoke to Olga on the show was appalling. Some found that his voice tone set off their fight-or-flight response.
He even seemed jealous of his own baby
Steven has admitted that he continues to battle with insecurities related to his own toxic upbringing and, to be fair, he and Olga appear to be doing much better these days.
Now, they’re getting some healthy bonding time
Part of the issue before may have been Steven’s stress about the K-1 Visa secret. Another part may have been the constant presence of cameras. Real relationships take time to blossom, and Steven and Olga had spent a finite amount of time together, physically, before cameras began rolling.
Steven is determined to provide for his family
He even started a crowdfunding effort, on top of his new job, to ensure that he can keep his family housed, clothed, and fed once they’re all in America
Some fans have lashed out at his tattoo photos
Numerous comments suggest that fans feel duped by his tattoo work, assuming that he is spending donated money on ink. The tattoo work may have been a gift from someone in Olga’s family, or even a promotional deal from the artist, whom Steven credited in his post. Sometimes, fans jump to the worst conclusions.
We hope that Steven’s neck heals soon
After all, he and Olga and baby Alex are gearing up to head home to the United States before too long. That’ll be a huge transition, and they’ll all want to be at their best for the journey.
