Teen Mom cast member Mackenzie McKee has not spoken very fondly of her estranged husband, Josh, ever since announcing the two were separation.
Remember when she called him a horrible person?
You know … mere days ago?
Now, however, the reality star has opened up about mistakes, admitting that Josh may not have always been loyal… but she isn’t exactly a prize, either.
Meaning what, exactly? We know she’s made some serious accusations against her spouse in the past, but what has Mackenzie herself admitted?
Scroll down to find out!
It’s All Over

Mackenzie McKee broke the news of her separation on August 16, with the Oklahoma native telling social media followers: “I would like to say, that due to stress, me needing to stay focused, the media, etc. I am deciding my marriage needs a break.”
Not an Easy Decision, But the Right One

It’s not like anyone comes to a decision like this easily. She added at the time: “My heart breaks for my kids. But as of right now, this is what’s best. Thank you.”
Can We Have Some History Here?

The couple got married in August of 2013, and has been together even longer than that, as Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant Nation know well. Mack and Josh share three kids – Gannon, 7, Jamie, 5, and Broncs, 3 – but they’ve been experiencing some difficult times for awhile.
Such As?

On McKee’s very first episode on MTV, we watched her reaction to the rumor that Josh – a professional bull rider – met a girl at a bar while he was away for a rodeo and that he rode her. If you know what we mean. We mean sex.
Josh Defended Himself

“There was no affection or anything like that there,” Josh said on the show of this allegation, continuing: “I’m just here to tell you that I was at a bar, and I’d like you to trust me when I’m getting a few drinks at a bar… I was just avoiding the fight, and I was wrong.”
The Rumor Clearly Affected MacKenzie, However

Just consider this Tweet.
Who Made the Final Choice to Separate?

Looks like it was her, alright. “We were truly best friends. It’s all just devastating … I know in my heart he loves me. This was my decision,” McKee has posted on her Twitter account.
Does She Regret It?

Doesn’t sound that way, based on remarks she made to celebrity gossip tabloid Us Weekly after viewing the Teen Mom 2 episode where Josh was accused of infidelity. “Turns out, Josh is not a good man whatsoever,” she has told this tabloid.
Your Loss, Dude!

“Watching the show and catching him in lies, seeing how independent he is, I realize I deserve better,” she added in this same tabloid interview.
No Beating Around Any Bushes Here

Mackenzie went on to slam Josh as follows: “I have fought for this marriage for many years, and lately, I’ve really opened my eyes to what a horrible person he is.”
But is Mackenzie So Innocent?

No. Appearing on something called Couples Court with the Cutlers, the MTV personality she has now shared parts of her and Josh’s story in the hopes of assisting another struggling couple.
What Did She Say on This Random Show?

“I met my boyfriend. We were 15 and 16 and we were babies thinking we knew what love was when we had no clue. And we got pregnant really quick and had our son,” Mackenzie tells a woman who fears her husband is a cheater.
The Bombshell…

“Within a year, we had both cheated on each other,” McKee says on the program. “And making it through that was hard.”
How Did They Handle It?

In an effort to get past their issues, Mackenzie explains that she and Josh “had a shotgun wedding” and “got married behind everyone’s backs.” Yikes, right?
Did It Work?

“We got married not forgiving each other yet,” she explains, adding that the pair “took a solid three months without talking to each other to work on ourselves.” None of this is conventional at all.
Does She Have Advice for Other Couples?

“You have to love yourself and you have to work on yourself,” she says. “And if it’s meant to be, you’re going to find your way back to each other. But you have to come clean.” That is conventionally good advice.
How Are Things at the Moment?

“Me and Josh are friends and are on good terms,” McKee told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup this week. “I’m still taking this time for myself. I’m doing counseling, just so an outside eye looking in can give me guidance. I just had so much piling up all at once, I just need time and structure.”
We’re True Soulmates

“Me and Josh do love one another, that will never change,” Mackenzie emphasized, adding in reference to her cancer-stricken mother, “God will guide me where I belong and I’m trusting in him right now and focusing on being there for my mom.”
Trying to Look Ahead

“I don’t want to look back one day and say I spent her last days being angry or miserable,” she continued to The Ashley. “I think I got so caught up in life I stopped loving myself. If I can’t love myself first, I can’t give it to anyone else.”
It Sounds Like Josh is Trying These Days, Too

McKee Tweeted this on September 17, 2019.
Will She Rise?

MacKenzie then wrote this Tweet and, hey, we hope she’s right. We wish her the best of luck.
Strange Times

The split from her husband could not come at a more eventful time in Mackenzie’s life.
Back In the Spotlight

For starters, Mackenzie JUST rejoined the MTV family having appeared in a couple episodes of Teen Mom OG just as the show’s latest season came to an end.
Return of the Mack

It wasn’t much — but fear not, Mackenzie fans, production sources have indicated that McKee WILL return to the show next season.
Drama Central

And while she no doubt wishes her life were somewhat less eventful, if there’s any silver lining in all this mess, it’s that Mackenzie brings a lot to the table in terms of drama-boosting ratings.
Tragedy In the Making

Not only is Mackenzie’s marriage deteriorating, it seems she may soon be forced to say goodbye to her beloved mother, Angie Douthit.
Hard Times

Douthit is battling stage 4 cancer, and she recently made the difficult decision to cease undergoing treatment.
Full House

On top of all this, Mackenzie has four kids to raise.
A Heavier Load

And while she won’t be facing that task entirely on her own, you can bet that Josh won’t be around as much as he used to be.
A Lot On Her Plate

Needless to say, Mackenzie has so much going on that she could support her own reality show these days — although we’re sure she wishes that were not the case.
More to Come …

We’ll keep you updated on the latest with Mackenzie’s marriage and her mother as more information becomes available.
