Well, that didn’t take long,
Teen Mom 2 Season 9 premiered on MTV last night, and in her first episode on the show, Lauren Comeau quickly ran afoul of Kailyn Lowry.
On Twitter, a debate raged among fans as the episode aired.
Is Lauren to blame for Kail’s ill will? Did shew ever stand a chance, or had Kail already made up her mind about Lauren before she knew anything about her?
Well, Lauren is keeping mum on the issue, but Javi Marroquin and Kail both have quite a bit to say.

No Emotions
On Monday’s season premiere, Kail revealed that she “felt nothing” upon learning her ex-husband had gotten engaged to Lauren Comeau.
Downhill Fast
The situation quickly deteriorated, however, as Kail caught wind of some unkind words from Lauren.
The “T” Word
According to Kail, Lauren repeatedly called her a “tw-t” in a lengthy text to Javi which she discovered during her pseudo-reconciliation with Marroquin back in 2017.
Strong Feelings
“I don’t want to be around her good terms, bad terms — you don’t exist to me!” Kail told one of the show’s producers during last night’s episode.
Lauren’s Side
Lauren feels quite differently about the situation and was actually quite eager to meet Kail.
Mystery Solved
“It makes me want to wonder why she hasn’t wanted to meet me for this long,” Comeau said to Marroquin during Monday’s episode.
Mutual Respect
“My biggest thing is I just want your co-parenting to be happy and healthy,” Lauren added. “I just want respect on both sides.”
Questionable Claim
On social media, many fans argued that it wasn’t terribly respectful for Lauren to call Kail a tw-t. but Javi says she had good reason for doing so. More on that later.
Keeping Her Distance
Despite Lauren’s eagerness to meet Kail, Lowry decided that she was “not ready” to meet Comeau, explaining she would rather “keep her distance” at the game.
Defending Her Stance
On Twitter, Kail defended herself against viewers who argued she was being unfair to Lauren.
No Bad Blood
“Tweeted it before. I don’t have any ill feelings towards Lauren,” Kail began.
Reality Bites
“However, you won’t see me officially meeting her for the first time on camera. I just don’t think that’s natural or genuine,” she added.
So … the Cameras Were the Problem?
Many fans pointed out that that’s something of a curious argument, considering how much of Kail’s life she’s already shared with the world.
Digging Deeper
Those same people pointed out that there were probably additional reasons that Kail has opted not to meet Lauren.
Javi Steps In
In a newly-published interview with Radar Online, Javi claims that Lauren has the utmost respect for Kail, and her previous disparaging comments were the result of an alleged theft.
Disney Heist
“That was when Lauren’s Disney band magically disappeared,” Marroquin explained to the outlet.
The “T” Word Explained
“That was Lauren used that word,” Javi added. “It wasn’t months ago when the whole Briana situation happened.”
Judging Kail
Javi went on to reveal that he feels Kail was in the wrong for not wanting to meet Lauren.
Like It Or Not
“She’s going to be in Lincoln’s life,” Javi asserted. He went on to compare the situation to Kail’s relationship with a previous ex.
Kail and Vee
“If you go back to Jo and Vee, it was important for her to have a relationship wirh Vee for Isaac,” Javi added. “It’s the same concept.”
Playing THAT Card
“If they could come together and do it for Lincoln, that would be great,” Javi concluded.
Backing Down
Back in November, Lauren stated she’s had a bit of a change of heart and no longer feels the need to form a relationship with Kail.
Lowered Expectations
“A direct relationship with her, I don’t know if that’s necessary. But to be able to all be together for the kids’ sake, hopefully we’ll get there.” That’s probably a more reasonable goal.
