The time has come for Josiah and Lauren Duggar.
Not to welcome their first child. Not yet.
But the beloved couple, who recently suffered a miscarriage and confirmed they were expecting a baby later this year, have taken a major step toward parenthood:
They've learned their impending little one's gender!
How exciting, right?
We won't keep you in suspense too much longer. You are mere seconds away from finding out for yourself...
But, First, a Brief History Lesson
In a Counting On scene from earlier this year, Lauren broke the tragic news to fans, saying on air: "A couple months ago, we found out that we were expecting, but suddenly thereafter, we lost our baby."
“It really was a hard time for our family going through this right after we got married. And all the dreams of getting to see our little one and hold it in our hands dashed before our eyes."
How Did They Find Out?
"Lauren and I were actually preparing for a trip to go to a friend's wedding over the weekend. She started feeling really sick and started noticing some different things," Josiah said on the Counting On premiere.
A Total Tragedy
"I wasn't feeling well," Lauren added. "I was cramping really, really bad, which was quite strange because I normally don't. I was thinking I had something with gluten in it."
"It was late at night and I went to the restroom, and right there was the baby. Gone. I couldn't believe it, and I was hoping it wasn't true," Lauren concluded at the time.
Showing Grace and Class
A short time later, Lauren signed online and wrote: “I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, support, and for all you Mama’s out there for sharing your angel baby stories. "It’s easy to share those happy times in our lives, but sharing something hard, like losing a baby can be like putting salt to a wound. I know by y’all sharing your stories it has not only helped me, but many other women who have gone through the same trials."
Fast Forward a Few Months...
... to Lauren and Josiah dropping the most beautiful and blessed bombshell on their supporters.
The Huge Reveal
"We are so excited to announce that baby #2 is on the the way!!!! It’s hard to fully express just how grateful we are for God blessing us again with another precious gift!" said the couple to People Magazine on May 20, 2019.
Added the Happy Couple:
Referencing the baby they lost, Lauren and Josiah added: "So, as we rejoice of the life of our second sweet baby, we also remember (balloon as symbolism) our other sweet baby, Asa, in heaven. God is so incredibly good."
Just SO Excited
“God’s faithfulness to us in our most difficult moments has sustained us and brought us such love and comfort,” the parents-to-be also told People Magazine. “We cannot begin to tell you how much we are looking forward to holding this baby in our arms this fall.”
The couple just held a gender reveal party. According to Us Weekly, Lauren got blood work done and then gave the results to her sister, Lily.
Family members were then given balloons at this gathering, filled with white, pink or blue confetti. Whichever balloon had either blue or pink would determine the gender. However, Lily surprised everyone by hiding one final balloon in the back with the actual reveal confetti.
And What Color Was It?!?
Yup, They're Having a Girl!
“We are so grateful that God has blessed us with a sweet baby girl!” the Counting On couple told Us Weekly.
They Concluded in This Statement:
“If she only knew how loved she is already and how many people are already praying for her! She truly is a gift… a miracle from God.”"
Girls are Running in the Family
Kendra Duggar is also expecting a daughter -- and Jessa Seewald welcomed her baby girl in May.
Josiah and Lauren got married in June of 2018.
We Love These Two
Josiah honored his wife on Mother’s Day, writing: “Not all mothers arms get to hold their little one, or get to hear their baby’s laughs and cries. You may have missed out on these things since our baby was called home to be with Jesus, but you ARE a mother. I love you Lauren! … #mamatoanangelbaby.”
We Wish Lauren a Happy and Healthy Pregnancy
And the same to ALL the many Duggar women who are currently expecting.
