Great news for Jenelle Evans fans!
And also for those of us who are fans of watching Jenelle be one of the hottest messes in the history of reality television!
After months of negotiations, the Carolina Hurricane has finally signed her contract for the new season of Teen Mom 2.
Yep, she’s going to be back with Kailyn, Leah, Chelsea, and Briana for all the drama that the next season will surely bring!
But how did it happen?
How did MTV get her to agree to sign, especially in light of a tumultuous year that featured the firing of her own husband?
Oh, just wait till you hear …
Dude
Jenelle’s Teen Mom 2 gig has been up in the air for the better part of this year — ever since she shared that insensitive photo of herself with the assault rifle immediately after the Parkland school shooting back in February.
Going Downhill
A few days after that, David went on his infamous homophobic rant, and he was pretty much immediately fired by MTV.
Ugh
Jenelle never directly supported his statements, but she continued on with her “stand by your man” nonsense, and she certainly never said anything against his backward views.
So Long?
At the time, there were lots of rumors that MTV was strongly considering firing Jenelle as well.
Way to Drag It Out
This went on FOREVER. Seriously, for so long.
Well, Jenelle …

At one point, she claimed to be starting her own show on YouTube, and she threatened to quit several times.
A Temporary Agreement

Jenelle refused to film for a little bit after David was fired, but eventually she agreed to get back to work, although she clearly wasn’t happy about it.
RAGE

Then, in the spring, she developed a nasty case of road rage while driving Jace home from therapy — road rage that caused her to follow another driver back to his house and pull a gun on him.
So Annoying, Dude
She didn’t face any legal repercussions from that dumb little stunt, because she never does, but again, there were rumors that it was the final straw for MTV.
AGAIN?!

A couple of weeks after that, she refused to show up for the taping of the Teen Mom 2 reunion because MTV wouldn’t pay for David’s travel or allow him on the set, and — you guessed it! — sources would have us believe that she nearly lost her job again.
This Time, It’s Serious!

But the other cast members reportedly signed contracts for the new season at the reunion, so where did that leave Jenelle?
Just Fire Her Already
Flapping in the wind, pretty much.
No Cooperation
Weeks went by, the other moms began filming, but still, Jenelle refused to sign her contract.
Totally Normal
MTV sent her all kinds of contracts, but she refused to sign any of them because MTV refused to budge on the matter of David.
Not Codependent At All
She wanted them to un-fire him, to let him be present during filming, or to at least pay for him to attend the reunions and any specials, but they remained firm: no David, for any reason.
Girl …
Eventually it came out that she’d already signed a contract for the new season, so this whole issue she’s been having with MTV is just over some new terms, and it doesn’t really matter — she’s still obligated to film.
FINALLY!
And according to a new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, she’s finally accepted that — she’s officially moving forward with the show!
Good News
âÂÂJenelle will likely begin shooting this week,” a source tells the site. “MTV is working out the filming schedule with her right now.”
HA!
It’s still not clear what the exact terms were, but David is definitely still banned from filming, so that’s fun.
More Barbara

The Teen Mom insider explains that âÂÂThey are going to film Jenelle with Barbara and do a basic catch-up on whatâÂÂs been happening in JenelleâÂÂs life since she last filmed. That will be filmed the first couple of days.âÂÂ
No!
âÂÂSince there is a lot of stuff that is off-limits to film,” the source continues, “either at JenelleâÂÂs request or because it has to do with David and MTV wonâÂÂt film him, the producers had to come up with new subjects to include in JenelleâÂÂs story. They are going to be revisiting with JaceâÂÂs father Andrew this season,âÂÂ
Gross
âÂÂNot sure if he will actually appear but he has been contacted to be part of JenelleâÂÂs storyline this season.âÂÂ
LOL
The source also says that âÂÂThey have plans to show Jenelle working with various charities,” and how hilarious is that?
Poor Thing
Apparently she “feels that her poor image has cost her several appearance opportunities, and that itâÂÂs not fair that other âÂÂTeen Momâ stars are allowed to do ventures with other networks and Jenelle is not.âÂÂ
Classic

It seems pretty clear that she agreed to get to filming because MTV told her she’d get a good edit going forward. And this is a good example of how, no matter what she does or how terribly she behaves, she never faces any consequences, ever.
