When Teen Mom 2 fans first learned that Javi Marroquin and Lauren Comeau are back together, the news was met with a fair amount of confusion.
Lauren and Javi dated during the summer of 2017, but it seemed that their mutual decision to part ways would be final.
After all, between the difficulties of long-distance dating and the challenges presented by Javi’s fame, Marroquin and Comeau had a lot standing in their way.
But the heart wants what it wants, and Javi and Lauren have officially decided to give their relationship another shot.
As expected, there have been some bumps along the way, but it seems the couple is committed to sticking by each other’s side through all the ups and downs:

Javi and Lauren announced their reconciliation by posting this photo on Instagram. Lauren captioned the pic, “Sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.”
Second Time’s the Charm
Javi and Lauren dated briefly in the summer of 2017, but they decided to call it quits due to a number of factors that were beyond their control.
Distance and Other Problems
Lauren is a Maine native who currently resides in South Carolina. Javi is still based out of Delaware. In addition to the challenges presented by distance, Lauren was reportedly less than thrilled with the pressures of dating a well-known reality star.
A Reuluctant Separation
So Javi and Lauren went their separate ways, but in hindsight, perhaps we should’ve seen this reconciliation coming. After all, the problems they faced are pretty minor compared to the issues that usually drive Teen Mom couples apart.

Needless to say, the situation didn’t look too promising. But apparently, this is really just a case of Javi being friendly with some TM2 fans – which, to be fair, is one of his job repsonsibilities.

Javi recently confirmed to OK! magazine that Lauren was not upset by the photos and that the two of them are still together.
A New Approach To an Old Problem?
Could it be that Lauren has come to accept that Javi’s fame will sometimes place him in this sort of position? Perhaps before their first breakup, these pics would have been a dealbreaker, but now she realizes this is simply the price of fame.

And now that Chris Lopez has been dropping the ball in such a major way, Javi doesn’t have to worry about winding up with the dubious honor of being dubbed Kail’s least-favorite baby daddy.

But the biggest positive change in Javi’s life has been his reconciliation with Lauren. Javi has earned a place in the heart of TM2 viewers in a way that no other ex has, and even diehard Kail supporters are happy that he’s found love.

Part of the reason that Javi is so well-liked these days is that he’s demonstrated a rare willingness to come clean about his past mistakes. For instance, he recently admitted that he should have been more upfront with Kail about the fact that he was considering getting back with Lauren.

“[Kail] was blindsided, which is my fault. I kind of continued to do my own thing and didn’t wait for her to show me assurance,” he told Radar Online last week. “I definitely could’ve done things differently.”
The Long Haul?
Fans are hoping Javi and Lauren’s relationship will have staying power. But whatever happens, TM2 viewers seem pleased that their favorite airman has made so many changes for the better!
