Prior to the start of the latest season of Teen Mom OG, MTV announced the addition of two new cast members — Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd.
Thanks to her famous last name, most of the buzz surrounded Bristol, but in the end, it was Cheyenne and her unique story that really connected with viewers.
Early complaints that Floyd had never technically been a teen mom evaporated as fans became engrossed in her trials and travails.
Though no stranger to reality TV, Cheyenne was not a celebrity on par with the other moms, and as a result, viewers found it easy to relate to storylines involving her daughter’s health issues and her relationship to Cory Wharton.
Of course, the season ended on something of a cliffhanger, as the nature of Cheyenne and Cory’s relationship remained uncertain.
Now, Ryder’s parents are clearing the air — but some fans are still more than a little confused.

Happy Family?
For the most part, Cheyenne Floyd and Cory Wharton seem to enjoy a very healthy co-parenting relationship. But are they more than just friends?
Making It Work
Cheyenne and Cory have always put their daughter’s needs ahead of their own. Their natural chemistry and the ease with which they seem to get along has raised questions about their relationship.
Cheyenne, Cory, Ryder
Cheyenne and Cory kept their relationship status a mystery throughout their first season on Teen Mom OG. Despite that, they quickly became fan favorites and the definition of #CoparentingGoals.
Through the Loop
“We were about 90% sure it was his,” Cory said of Cheyenne’s boyfriend at the time. “Got tested, and it comes back zero. So, everyone got thrown through the loop.â€Â
The Results
Ryder was about six months old before it was determined that Cory was her father, and Wharton has reportedly devoted himself to being there for his daughter ever since.
Ryder’s Mom and Dad
Floyd broke up with her boyfriend not long after Ryder’s, but she didn’t go running straight to Cory.
Speaking the Right Words
“She’s gonna know who her dad is at the end of the day,” Cheyenne reassured Cory at one point.
Cory’s Got Jokes
“Why don’t you just be single?†Cory jokingly asked in response. “Oh sorry, I just had a thought, I don’t know, it just came over me.â€Â
Keeping It Light
While fans appreciate that (unlike some Teen Mom couples) Cheyenne and Cory have a sense of humor, some viewers have stated that all those jokes make it difficult to tell if the couple is serious about getting back together (which may be Floyd and Wharton’s goal).
Shipping
All season, fans have been rooting for Cory and Cheyenne to get back together and make it official.
A New Beginning?
On the season finale of Teen Mom OG, Cheyenne and Cory gave fans what they wanted by hooking up.
Moving Fast
During an Instagram Live session after the episode aired, Cory even popped the question to Cheyenne — but once again, he was only joking.
Mystery Solved?
TMOG obsessives were hoping all their questions would be answered during Monday night’s reunion special.
Overshadowed
Unfortunately, Cheyenne and Cory were largely overshadowed by couples with far more drama in their lives. (We’re looking at you, Amber and Andrew.)
Dakota Chimes In
But the fact remains that literally everyone wants to see Cheyenne and Cory end up together. Even Bristol’s ex, Dakota Meyer, offered his two cents.

“All I’m gonna tell you is you’d better marry Cheyenne,†Dakota told Cory. “You’d be dumb if you didn’t.â€Â
Playing It Safe
Cory made it clear that he does have feelings for Cheyenne, but is concerned that now might not be the right time for a relationship.

“I think that we can be together but right now’s not the time,” he stated. “I’m not gonna lead her on and then not be ready to marry her.â€Â

Of course, he then went on to propose to Cheyenne once again, but once again, he was only joking.
The Same Page
Cheyenne seems to take a similar view of her relationship with Cory, telling Amber, I respect that he’s able to say, ‘Hey, let’s not do this right now.’ I’ll take that rather than someone feeding me some bulls–t, feeding me a dream and then I get hurt and it turns ugly.â€Â
Frustration
Still, she admits that such an ill-defined relationship can be frustrating at times, adding, “How long are we doing this for?†she questioned. “How long am I gonna be letting the lines get blurred?â€Â
The Future
As for what the future holds for Cheyenne and Cory, Wharton recently hinted that fans will soon be learning a lot more about the nature of their relationship.
No Labels
They may not be eager to put a label on their relationship, but considering they’ve discussed the possibility of having another kid together, we’re guessing Cheyenne and Cory’s arrangement is working just fine for both of them.
