Anna Faris is pretty, talented and hilarious.
But you knew that already.
What about the actress may take you by surprise?
We just finished her memoir, "Unqualified," and we can think of a few tidbits, revelations and stories that may cause you to view Faris in a slightly different light.
The Book is Dedicated To...
... soon-to-be-ex-husband Chris Pratt! The dedication reads: "To Chris, Your wisdom and strength have made me a better person."
Pratt Also Penned the Book's Foreword
Acknowledging that “"Anna is an important part of my life and she always will be,” Pratt adds: "I'm doing [this] because I love and respect her and told her I would,” saying Faris is the “person that I spent one amazing decade with."
Inside Their Relationship:
"When I first met Chris, I was constantly looking for proof that he was not as great as he seemed," she writes of their 2007 introduction on the set of a movie. At the time, Faris was married, but then she split from her husband and: "You might think that, fresh off an almost decade-long relationship, I would be hesitant to move on to the next, but I couldn't have fallen more headfirst into my feelings for Chris."
This Is the Chapter That Will Make You Vomit
That's what Faris titled a chapter about all of Pratt's romantic gestures, which included: sending a giant bouquet of flowers to the set of her sitcom each week and writing her "old-timey war letters that said things like, 'Honey, I'm dreaming of the day I get to hold you again.'"
More Gushing Over Pratt
Faris describes her husband as "amazing" when she was admitted to the hospital and placed on bed rest after her water broke at 30 weeks pregnant. In addition to sleeping with her in the hospital, Pratt decorated her room with photos and posters and brought her desserts every night.
Marry, F-ck, Kill?
Sort of. "You have to hide a dead body with someone, call them to bail you out of jail, or get anal bleaching together," says friend Cassie Daniels in the book. Faris replies that she'd hide a dead body with Regina Hall because she's "cool under fire."
She'd Call Emma Stone to Bail Her Out of Jail
"Because she's really crafty and quick on her feet and she would create a plan. I think she would be a little surprised to hear from me, though, because it’s been a while. 'Hey, Emma! I’m in a little jam!' But I think she would answer the call."
She'd Do Anal Bleeching with Allison Janney
"We’ve seen a lot of each other’s bodies. But truly, I think any of these women would perform well in any of these scenarios."
Why Did She Marry Ben Indra?
"I felt like I didn't have the courage to be single. Being single and dating makes you vulnerable. Trying to become an actor was already terrifying enough, to add searching for a relationship and friends to that list? That felt like too much."
When Did She Know It Was Over?
Afterher 30th birthday party in 2007: "I spent not one moment alone with Ben and I noticed it." They then took a trip through the English countryside and "wewere searching for conversation. We had nothing in common."
Back to Pratt:
They eloped in 2009. While in Bali for a friend's wedding, they decided to tie the knot, too. "It was a gorgeous ceremony that was just the two of us," she writes. "We had already told our parents that we were probably going to elope, and we’d promised them that we would have a party at home, too."
Yes, She Got a Boob Job
"I did it for myself. I wasn’t doing it for Hollywood — I'd be wearing padded bras for my whole career, so it wasn’t like I thought that implants were going to suddenly help me get ahead. But I wanted to feel sexy in a way that I hadn’t been feeling, and I'll be honest, after getting the surgery, I did."
Those Stories in 2016 of Pratt and Co-Star Jennifer Lawrence Having an Affair?
They "totally hurtful" recalls Faris, who confesses she tried to ignore them "but I couldn't block them out, either." Lawrence even apologized, but Faris says there was no need. She did nothing wrong.
Her Tradition on the Set of Mom:
Every Friday, before taping, "I make an announcement to the crew It goes something like this: 'Hey, everybody, I have an announcement. I just want to tell you guys all how much I love you and what an amazing team we are. You are the best. I feel so lucky that I get to drive to working knowing that I'm going to see you." Why does she do this? "Why not spread the love? Even if it means that I come across as an idiot."
