It turns out that the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? sneak peek in which Larissa threatens Colt with divorce was just the tip of the iceberg.
On Sunday night’s new episode, the drama was relentless.
After Pedro refuses an invitation to have Thanksgiving with The Family Chantel, she goes alone — and you’ll see why she’s relieved that she did.
Jay wants a visa so that he can work, but Ashley is hesitant for some very understandable reasons.
As Larissa’s trial date approaches, Debbie is just hoping that Larissa gets sent back to Brazil, while Larissa feels betrayed.
Paola’s pregnancy might bring her closer to Russ’ family, and Russ is harboring a secret.
Andrei, of all people, actually extends an olive branch to Elizabeth’s family.
And Nicole gets real about some of her worries about Azan.
Chantel is still torn

On the one hand, she loves Pedro. On the other hand, her entire family feels very differently.
Yes, there is still drama with Chantel’s family

Remember, Chantel and Pedro’s big family drama is so intense that they’re getting their very own spinoff.
Mostly, it’s the aftermath of this

A physical fight broke out between Pedro and Chantel’s family — initially between Pedro and her brother, River. It became a melee, and even producers rushed out from behind cameras to end the violence.
Now, Pedro is invited to Thanksgiving

“ThatâÂÂs so weird because last time I saw her [mom], she tried to call immigration to send me back to my country,â Pedro expresses. âÂÂHell, no, I donâÂÂt want to do Thanksgiving.”
That may be for the best

Chantel’s mom (who loves being on TV more than life itself and I CANNOT get enough of this woman) pulls out a taser, whom she has named “Shocky,” and ignites it for dramatic effect, vowing that she’ll protect her family no matter what.
Chantel’s glad that she came alone

“If my mom wouldâÂÂve pulled out that taser in front of my husband I wouldâÂÂve been pissed,â Chantel admits. âÂÂI guess IâÂÂm glad he didnâÂÂt come.” Yep.
Ashley and Jay

90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? stars Ashley Martson and Jay Smith will be continuing to tell their story on reality television.
Ashley’s still uneasy

Jay potentially cheating on her while he was still in Jamaica, before they officially married, was one thing. Him downloading Tinder and chatting up girls and using FaceTime to plan to meet up? Not okay. She’s still rattled by it.
Jay confessed while getting a haircut, in fact
He got roasted for it by everyone in the barbershop, too. What was he thinking? That’s anybody’s guess.
Jay feels like he’s stagnating
He wants to work, which is great, but Ashley is leery of filing that paperwork.
Because it’s one hell of a commitment

“I donâÂÂt want to be under contract for 10 years if we donâÂÂt work out,” Ashley explains very frankly.
She describes her worst-case scenario
“And youâÂÂre, like, living with another woman and IâÂÂm still responsible for you,” Ashley explains.
The trust issues are understandable
But there’s only so long that the two of them can go without Ashley making a decision — either Jay stays with her with all of the right paperwork, or they split up and he goes back to Jamaica
Obviously, this was filmed last year
This was before ICE visited Jay in February of this year, and it’s also before Jay’s latest cheating scandal from last month — and apparently his alleged extramarital hookups date back months before they were revealed on April 15.
This episode was filmed when they were trying to make it work
Some viewers will no doubt accuse Ashley of not trusting Jay enough or being too harsh. But knowing that he betrays her again may help people see her caution in a different light.
In real life, she’s already moving on
She kicked Jay out of the house weeks ago and she’s already dating again. Good for her.
Colt and Larissa

This couple is dealing with a LOT of issues, including a live-in mother(-in-law), some serious personal disagreements, wildly different expectations, and the aftermath of Larissa’s (first) domestic battery arrest.
Larissa is going to trial

Now, it’s been reported that Colt dropped both charges over the 2018 incidents. But right now, Larissa is worries about being deported and resentful of Colt for calling the police.
Debbie thinks deportation would be great, actually
She thinks that it would be the best thing for her, at least, because she’s “too old for this s–t.”
Larissa resents the hell out of Debbie

“I think Colt and Debbie are conspiring against me because they are partners in crime,” Larissa expresses. “I think they want to kick me out of America.”
There are other issues
Larissa (like Jay) cannot work yet in the US, and points out that Colt expects her to be sexy and beautiful but refuses to buy her things — even though he’s her sponsor. And, you know, her husband. Colt dismisses this as an immature desire for possessions.
Larissa also hints at divorce
She says that if Colt does any other “bad” thing to her, she will divorce him. We have to note here that there are allegedly unseen photos showing that she was a victim of domestic violence, allegedly perpetrated by Colt, during the months leading up to their January 10 fight. But she could be referring to all sorts of things, here.
She’s generally fed up
It’s been a few months since Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance ended, and it’s strange to see Larissa on TV again. Her photos and videos on social media these days are so cheerful and peaceful. Back when she was with Colt, she always seemed on edge.
But Colt is only part of the problem
Larissa continues to believe that Debbie is the biggest problem in her marriage. It’s not just her presence, but her very apparent dislike of Larissa and the way that she speaks about her to Colt.
Everyone can see that Larissa and Colt are toxic together
Knowing that they eventually break up is a source of comfort, even though the actual breakup was a scary and bloody mess. Some people should not be together.
Russ and Paola
Paola gave birth on January 1 of 2019, but Season 4 of Happily Ever After? still shows her pregnant back in 2018.
Russ drops a bombshell

He tells the confessional camera that he has been offered a lucrative position … in Oklahoma.
He’s not sure how to tell Pao
This has always been an issue for them. Paola is a model and she has friends in Miami. She’s a city girl. She doesn’t want to feel like she’s been marooned in Oklahoma.
But Russ may have an opportunity to change her mind
See, his family lives in Oklahoma, and that’s where they’re having Paola’s baby shower.
So he hopes that they’ll hit it off
Pao is interested in being close to his family for the baby shower, and he hopes that she’ll bond with them and be more open to moving to Oklahoma.
And happier, of course
Russ may have had some goofy misgivings about Paola’s career, but he’s not a monster — he doesn’t want his wife feeling isolated or miserable. He loves her.
In real time, they’re focused on being parents these days
Baby Axel is adorable and is now four months and five days old. Awww!!
Elizabeth and Andrei

Like Chantel and Pedro, Elizabeth and Andrei are dealing with family drama, as Elizabeth’s family has issues with Andrei.
And that family is growing
Like Paola, Elizabeth was pregnant while this season was filmed but has since given birth.
And there’s another similarity
Like Jay, Andrei does not currently have a full-time job … but that’s not Elizabeth’s doing.
Her family is annoyed
In addition to other issues (Andrei comes from a deeply patriarchal culture, which had her friends and family concerned), they want him to provide for her.
Andrei was pissed at them
“IâÂÂm not looking forward to spend a lot of time with her family members because they judge the fact that IâÂÂm not working,â Andrei explains. âÂÂItâÂÂs just like so stupid and itâÂÂs so frustrating the fact that they just stick their nose into my business.”
He did have a change of heart

“From now on IâÂÂm just gonna step it up. IâÂÂm just gonna do it on my own. IâÂÂm gonna be the provider,â Andrei tells Elizabeth’s father. âÂÂI appreciate your help and everything. IâÂÂm going to make sure everythingâÂÂs fine.” Her father continues to have doubts.
Nicole and Azan

Following the bombshell that Nicole totally fabricated having given Azan $6,000 to open a shop (there was no money transfer and he never actually opened a shop), there’s still talk about finances.
She misses him
It’s not just that she’s a little horny for him (though, let’s be real, that’s part of it). She thinks that the long-distance aspect of their relationship could ruin things if they don’t take steps to work on it.
Nicole has a solution
“Right now, Azan and I have problems in our relationship,â Nicole admits. âÂÂI want us to spend some quality time together.”
No, it’s not another trip to Morocco
Instead, she started looking at third-party countries where the two of them could meet up.
She has one quality in mind

She wants countries where, unlike in Morocco, the two can publicly display affection and even rent a hotel room together.
Get it, girl!
“If we go to Grenada, we can go in the same hotel room,â Nicole suggests. âÂÂI think thatâÂÂll be fun to just feel natural and make out on the beach of something.”
There’s just one problem: money

Nicole isn’t exactly a wealthy heiress herself, and she says that Azan has even less because he doesn’t really work. He just, in her words, “hangs out with his friends and stuff.” Airline tickets and vacations are expensive, folks.
That’s not encouraging
Obviously, plenty of people can’t help being unemployed, and no one should be shamed for that. But if Azan is serious about one day marrying Nicole and being a father for May (and others), he may need to change his lifestyle and attitude.
