Shane Sparks, 40 year old award winning hip hop choreographer and America’s Best Dance Crew judge, has been charged with child molestation and arrested in Los Angeles.

L.A. police made the arrest at his Hollywood home and transported him to jail in Nay Nuys, where he is being held on $590,000 bail. According to spokesman Richard French, Sparks was “the subject of an ongoing child molestation investigation.”

There are a total of 8 counts in a crime that reportedly occurred over a three year period beginning in 1994, involving an underage victim who was a dance student at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. Sparks would have been 25-years-old at the time.

The charges include two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of oral copulation with a minor, and lewd conduct with a child under 14, which is a felony.

Sparks shot to fame in the 2004 movie You Got Served. From there he joined So You Think You Can Dance, where he earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography. That accolade lead to the America’s Best Dance Crew gig, which just wrapped its fourth season.

Earlier this year, Alex Da Silva, a choreographer associated with So You Think You Can Dance, was arrested on similar charges. See mugshot and details here.
