Katy Perry performed live Friday, July 24, on the Today Show concert series.
Perry performed “Hot N’ Cold” and “Waking Up in Vegas,” rocking a one-shouldered, sequined red minidress adorned with dice, prompting Matt Lauer to ask, “What have you worn today?”
24-year-old Katy, born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson in Santa Barbara, California, to parents who were pastors, began her career as a gospel singer. She went mainstream in 2007, signing on with Capitol Music Group, taking on the stage name Katy Perry.
In 2008, Katy scored her breakthrough single, “I Kissed a Girl.”
