Season 5 of the hit TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 is currently being filmed and the premiere will be next Monday, May 25, 2009.
TLC has leaked a couple of sneak peek videos to give everyone of flavor for what is to come. We’ve been hearing that Kate Gosselin shopped at a party supply store just a few days ago and a film crew was on hand Sunday to capture a birthday party held at an area park for her sextuplets, who turned five the previous week.
Jon Gosselin was on hand for the party but left in a separate car afterward, continuing to fuel speculation that the couple are considering a split.
This seems to lend credence to what Kate’s brother Kevin Kreider and his wife Jodi Kreider recently reported to Radar online. They said, “All we know is what Jon told us, that Kate came to him with a contract saying he could have girlfriends and that he could do his own thing. In exchange Jon needs to show up for filming, but otherwise he has the freedom, certain days, to do whatever he wants.”
Most loyal viewers of the show know the couple as Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jodi. They were mainstays during Season 3 but were banished by Kate when they tried to give her some constructive criticism regarding the way her behavior had deteriorated toward her husband on the reality show. It appears Jon still feels a connection to the couple and has reportedly confided in them on several occasions since things went haywire with his marriage.
After viewing the sneak peek videos below, we know that Emeril Lagasse showed up to cook with Kate in her kitchen. In the other video, Kate was in the middle of baking her own birthday cake when a bus pulled up and the entire family loaded up and paid a visit to master baker Duff Goldman at Charm City Cakes in Baltimore.
