As you’ve likely heard by now, Drake and Puff Daddy got into a fight outside of a nightclub in Miami over the weekend.

There were a number of rumors as to what started the melee, which sources say resulted in Drake being hospitalized for a dislocated shoulder.

Now, insiders say the totally un-gangsta-sounding “slap fight” was the result of a long-stewing feud that started not over a woman – as was initially reported – but over the rights to a coveted beat.

Yes, as if this feud could get any lamer, the official explanation is now that Puff Daddy punched Drake over a song.

The story, goes Puff purchased a track produced by a guy named Boy-1da and proceeded to sit on it for eight months.

Drake got frustrated, as he also had an interest in the track, so he turned it into “0-100/The Catch-Up.”

Diddy considered the move disrespectful, and the next thing you know, Aubrey’s getting smacked.

That concludes this installment of Lamest Rap Beefs Ever. Next week: Iggy Azalea vs. Snoop Dogg.
