This is probably not the kind of press that American Idol runner-up David Archuleta is looking for in his budding career. It has just been revealed that David’s father James Archuleta was arrested in January 2009, during a raid at a prostitution house.
Here is what we know; Detective Sgt. John Salazar of Midvale Police Department is speaking out on the incident:
“He was just finishing up in suite number one. I sent two officers in and the male was on his stomach on the table with a masseuse in lace underwear. He was asked if he received any sexual favors and he said he had.”
At that moment he probably should have uttered, “Umm, no officer…I was just getting a massage.” James Archuleta received a $582 fine for his part in the little indiscretion. No word on the punishment imposed on the scantily clad prostitute.
Archuleta’s lawyer is singing a different tune on the whole situation, saying that the senior Archuleta, suffering from back problems, only went for a massage and that no sexual acts were performed. Seems like too little, too late from the legal eagle.
