X Factor alum is suddenly a big deal in the U.K.
Cher Lloyd came in fourth place on the British reality show The X Factor but that seems irrelevant at this point. The 18-year-old singer was quickly signed by Syco Music and her debut single just landed in the No. 1 spot on the UK charts.
Swagger Jagger features Lloyd’s vocals and rhyming skills. The upbeat song debuted on August 7, 2011 at No. 1 in England and at No. 2 in Ireland .
It’s a bit of a different story in the U.S. SJ was released to iTunes on August 2, 2011 with no promotion and has yet to impact on radio or charts in America.
The singer is thrilled with her early success in Europe, “Having a number one was the best thing I could have asked for.”
