Oh no! Hopefully this won’t effect the great publicity that pop star Britney Spears has been receiving on her Circus tour. Last night Spears walked off the stage at the GM Place in Vancouver due to marijuana smoke….not once but twice, leaving her fans booing and confused.
Fifteen minutes into her first set with three songs down, Brit pulled the plug and walked off stage. Why? Well, a woman’s voice came across the arena sound system saying “The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage clears.”
The crowd was mad! Concert-goers said that the break ruined everything and the vibe was lost. Once Britney returned to the stage, nearly 30 minutes later, her fans were reportedly not impressed….calling her Me Against the Music act strictly “Bollywood”. She went on to sing Everytime, leaving the stage for a second time 90 seconds before the song was even finished.
The singer saved her hit song Womanizer for last and then addressed her fans with one last message: “Vancouver, don’t smoke weed.”
Spears publicist tried to do some damage control following the concert, citing that it was not the pop princess but rather the crew members who manage the lighting, stationed high in the rafters, who became ill due to poor ventilation.
Check out the video below of Britney addressing the fans at the end of the concert.
