Last year hip hop pioneer and Beastie Boy Adam MCA Yauch shocked the world when he announced via Youtube video that he had cancer. After undergoing surgery and treatment, MCA is officially in remission and ready to get back to what he loves most…music. While MCA was battling cancer, the Beastie Boys missed a lot of shows and are eager to get back to performing.
The group plans to resume working on its latest project “Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1”, which had to be delayed due to Yauch’s illness. “It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders”, expressed MCA. The group is excited to release the album but has not set a definite date. They are concerned first with the health of their band mate.
So will you be able to see The Beastie Boys on Tour? The group has high hopes for touring but Adam admits that he is not fully ready and with such a lack of energy, a touring schedule could be too demanding. Happy Healing Adam!
