Fans of the Cheryl Strayed adventure memoir ‘Wild’ will get a chance to see Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon bring the film adaptation to the big screen.

‘Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail’ is a 2012 best seller that got a major boost from Oprah Winfrey – who added it to her new 2.0 Book Club list of must reads.

The movie will chronicle Strayed’s 1,100 mile hike as she tries to get her head on straight after the death of her mother and subsequent alienation from the rest of her family.

She started on the edge of the Mojave Desert and completed her solo trek over several months, only sporadically meeting up with other like-minded travelers at designated restocking points along the route.

Witherspoon posted a few photos, including a behind the scenes look at her “fake feet” being created.

Strayed has been on location in Oregon with Witherspoon and the film crew. She said on Facebook, “It’s an extraordinary experience to see Reese Witherspoon dressed in the clothes I wore on the trail, her hair the same style and color as mine then, with my beloved-loathed Monster on her back packed just the way I packed it. I’m humbled and awed and so excited for you to see the movie!”
