Hugh Hefner is playing Willy Wonka with the December issue of Playboy. Anyone finding one of the golden tickets in the new edition of his magazine will be invited to the Midsummer Night’s Dream party at the mansion.
Lucky winners of the ten golden tickets will be allowed to bring a guest to the party and will be provided with transportation and hotel accommodations for the once-in-a-lifetime event.
Playboy editorial director Jimmy Jelinek dreamed up the idea after thinking about Wonka’s giveaway of five golden tickets in the wrappers of chocolate bars. Winners got to visit the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory.
Jelinek said: “This is the first time we’ve literally swung the doors open to the public. We expect people to be fighting in the streets for these copies.”
With sales down by 34% last year, a boost in popularity is urgently needed.
