Big news for the residents of Aspen, Colorado. Charlie Sheen, who was arrested in their affluent city on Christmas day, is set to begin serving jail time on Monday and has been granted a work release pass to help out at Theatre Aspen.

Sheen’s official charge was third degree misdemeanor assault and he was handed down a 30 day sentence. When all is said and done, it will total about 15 days and will be even less constrained now that he will be able to “work”.

Charlie will help out at the renowned professional theater and will coach aspiring actors and actresses by either teaching a class or holding a question and answer session. He is also expected to help out where needed in the fund-raising department. The theater puts on three summer shows.

The actor will be free on work release from 8am until 8pm every day. He has one last hurdle. He will appear on Monday morning in front of a judge to get the final blessing, at which time the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department will allow Sheen to begin his short term day job.
